Re: r ( General / Configuration and Security )

joojoo's Avatar

hi, don't get nervous and read my first post from march 2011 : i met the same problem with osolcaptcha in one of your template and i had to find an other solution because there was too much bug with it. But i never found the solution here, perhaps the template was too old. What I mean is clear that the problems with the captcha that did not work properly with my template (template for the site and template for VM): a large number of other concerns have never been debugged, including in 2011 when I reported it (I could make a list of problems encountered and never resolved) then I found other solutions myself which captcha not working, the coding template that does not properly consider the rewriting SEF urls, the drop-down menu that bug into the template, compression of CSS and JS files impossible, the incompatibility between different versions of browsers, etc, etc, etc.). All these bugs have remained unanswered because it was told that the template was to old. I used Mynxx since V1.5 and joomla V 1.1.4 VM, and since 2010, most of the bugs encountered in the template has never been supported: the list is long and I had to fend for myself only to debug and modify the code, weeks and days of work .... for someone who is not a developer. In short, what I am saying is that asking to update version is an argument to avoid having to solve a lot of problems with a templates sold since months. What I criticize is to advise users to upgrade their site and template in order to address the problem. As if Apple and Microsoft refused to provide updates to their OS on the pretext that they are too old! This argument is found in all the vendors template or commercial modules, plugins or components, and this is not normal because dice when a site is professionaly functionning live, it is sometimes impossible to upgrade in a day, it can take days or weeks and generates new problems for the website owner... That was all.

i think you prefere not understanding what i mean... :cheesy: What don't you answer before when i wrote this topic in 2011?? probably because you were motivated to find a solution. Rereading the whole topic: You did not open this topic, I replied to the questions of the original poster, and he was thankful for the help given. You then started asking different questions in this same thread: essentially hijacking a thread that had not been started by you. :cheesy: Next time be wise, just open your own thread. If you have template issues, then post them in the correct forum for the template, not in the general area.

I really do not understand your question or problem. I answered this to Abundante: Hello Abundante, You are posting to a thread that is over 2 years old, and joomla 3.1 is completely different from the joomla version 1.5, the issue can thus not be the same. I suggest opening a new thread, detailing your exact problem, since you will probably not get any useful reply. Then you started replying to this thread again. It has nothing to do with motivation, and replies like that will not get you anywhere really. As I understand now, you want solutions that involve custom coding for a virtuemart version 1.5? Tell me again what you want, because this is confusing, if you need custom coding, visit the marketplace and post a request there. If I did not want to understand, I would not ask you again to explain your problem, that is called motivation, sticking with it, until you can understand what someone wants in order to help them, but my guess is you did not understand the logic behind that yet.

the Mar 10, 2011 it was always a joomla 1.5 current version still valid but the solution had never been found. Like many other bugs in the template which poses problems with Virtuemart and SEF/SEO tools. Everyone is passing the buck, not whether it comes from the template nor the captcha or VM ...

Hi, I am having the same issue with Captcha but on version 3.1 of Joomla and with the Fresco Template. You can visit the page at http://www.disfrutelavida.com/index.php/leonardo/contacto, the captcha is not showing the image. I disabled it, because the contact form has to be available. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. This is the only thing left to get up and running in this website. Please advise someone, Leonardo

Osee, It looks like you opted for the basic RSForms spam protection instead. If you want to use recaptcha then you can add these lines to your template css: http://www.modernmagic.com/blog/joomla-technical-support/responsive-recaptcha.html Its a bit of a hack job, but you may add some css styling to match Omnicron's.

That's tough one, I looked on the RSForms forum and they only accept support tickets for this assistance so you might try that. I can't tell you which file in RSForms you would have to edit, it looks like all the styles are inline so CSS won't do the trick here. I googled "change recaptcha width" and found various answers, some I saw said you can't change the image size, others referred back to the link you have or offered similar solutions. It's all about finding which file has the script in it and modifying it to see what is possible. To be perfectly honest, I think it looks fine as is. It's a little bigger than the fields but I don't think it's the end of the world. I'm not sure how all of that stuff would fit in there if you made it smaller. Maybe consider making the Description field bigger to match the Captcha size, that might even it out a bit. Just a suggestion.
