I heard a rumor that all chipped in donations over the $1,000.00 will be used by Andy to buy drinks at the RT pro users lounge bar. ;D

the widgit updates every 5 minutes, although it doesn' seem to update at all in my safari browser. I bumped it up to $2500 goal as the response so far has been so great!

You're rolling in hundreds of K from RT subscriptions annually... and this bridge is going to almost double your traffic and earnings when it comes out (via increased J templates sales + phpBB3 template sales) and you can't fork out a few g to get this going?
Other ways to pay for it.
1.) Find sponsors: People would gladly pay $500 to get a credit in the params page... $500 to have their ad in the params page of the official release for one year. eg: This bridge has been made possible with financial support from Redwood Design LLC. (Include a small pic + link)
2.) Instead of donations, sell pre-orders for the phpBB template club. Every pre-order gets the subscriber double what they pay for. Eg. If one of your normal plans is $30 for 3 months, people who pay $30 now, get 6 months instead of 3.
3.) Sell subscriptions to a different section of the rocketwerx forum where "pro" members get priority support, access to phpbb theme hacking tutorials, etc.
I dunno... maybe I'm just being an arse.... but It's pretty unorthodox to take donations for a commercial project from which you will directly profit.
And did Johan suddenly demand more after he realized people were donating? Earlier it could be finished for $1000, but has since jumped to $2500. ???
[edit: used the wrong word, implying underhand/unethical behavior on the part of RT. Replaced with "unorthodox", which isn't the perfect word either.]
