    • In all the rocketlauncher versions of Joomla TinyMCE doesnt even HAVE an option for clean code on load or exit, this is very frustrating and I changed my default editor to rokpad.

    • the tiny mce plugin is a core Joomla component plugin. That is not related to the rocket launcher but the Joomla component. In the plugin settings for Tiny MCE there is a "clean up code on startup" option.

That said, TinyMCE is not a valuable tool and you are far better off with RokPad. If you need a WYSIWYG editor then the JCE component is the way to go.

    • Well, on my rocketlaunch install of modulus that is missing.. ie..

... So I dont know what gives with that. The only reason I am even interested in it was for color formatting without having to open up and paste and copy from another editor. I am going to try JCE as you suggest. Thanks

Pardon the big pic, I couldnt find out how to add attachment here.

    • I must be among the few who find TinyMCE in extended functionality a preferable option and have in fact had less trouble with it...
But maybe I could revisit JCE now that several versions have been released since the last time I gave it a try.
There is one thing though that I know I don't like in JCE...the new lines it produces are considerable bigger than those of TinyMCE (you can compare)...is there a way to have that changed?

I think the default in JCE is to produce <p> when you use the carriage return. This can be changed to use <br> instead. It is in configuration settings.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • TinyMCE is preconfigured to use <p> elements for new lines too...and I haven't changed that...If I want a single spacing line, a <br> element, I know I can press Shift+Enter to get it...

Still JCE produces lines of greater distance from each other...maybe it's some default padding-margin setting in JCE...

For some time I had wanted to have single spacing <p> elements with TinyMCE and I had posted at moxiecode's forums and it seems this had been a very common request...
...there is a default padding-margin setting in TinyMCE - so I guess in JCE also, but only bigger - which can be customized in the editor with "Insert/Edit Attributes"...but I don't know how to make it default...
It also won't work in all cases, especially for pre-existing documents...

If you know how a default padding/margin value of "0" for text can be set for JCE, I would be happy to use it...
In this way, pressing "Enter" would still produce <p>elements but of single line spacing...

    • Looking at the source for both Tiny and JCE, I am seeing no difference in line height, therefore I must not be understanding what you are saying as it seems to me the problem must be in CSS. My only problem with JCE is how long it takes to load.

    • After checking through several Joomla editors I will have to say that CKeditor is the absolute best. It loads fast and switches to sourcecode easily also without a lot of wait. :)
