      Have you tried using default Joomla 1.5 SEO, its pretty good, you probably don't need sh404sef as Joomla itself can probably provide your needs. Seems there are a lot of issues with 3rd party SEO components. Is there any reason for sh404sef or is just because its something you've always used.

      Btw, we use default 1.5 SEO on the RT site.
      Hi James,

      I would love to keep using Joomla SEF URL's BUT this is a BIG BUT there is an issue with dup content. for example:

      www.anydomainname.com/home-mainmenu-71.html
      Go's to www.www.anydomainname.com/index.php SAME contnet Diffrent URL's

      Is do you know away round this? I've also found this " www.alledia.com/blog/joomla-urls/when-to-use-a-sef-component/ " which talks about dup content. There example was:
      * woofandwarp.com/joomla/32-joomla-and-duplicate-content-what-does-google-think
      * woofandwarp.com/blog/2-joomla/32-joomla-and-duplicate-content-what-does-google-think
      * woofandwarp.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article=&id=32
      * woofandwarp.com/component/content/article/2-joomla/32-joomla-and-duplicate-content-what-does-google-think

      Need to find a soultion if I can still use the Joomla SEF URL's and STOP DUP URL's GREAT.

      Cheers James

      Thanks Danny

    • The only setting that I know of that can cause two different urls to view the same page is the plugin "backlink" which takes a best guess at what the previous version of Joomla 1.0 might have been and directs it to the proper place in 1.5. This is only needed if you've migrated from Joomla 1.0 to 1.5. I recommend making things work with this disabled if you can.

      In the case that you are getting to the same page by two different urls, for instance when you mention it ending in "index.php" that should only occur if someone physically types it in making it not that much of an issue.

      In the case that you have two pages and the url to each of those pages goes back to only one of them, you have "backlink" enabled.
      Example:
      mysite.com/something_here - goes to - mysite.com/something_here
      mysite.com/another - goes to - mysite.com/something_here
      when these are two different published pages.

    • Found the issue you must go into sh404sef advanced tab and tell it that you have .htaccess (mod_rewrite). This is done by viewing the component in extended display then the advanced tab will show up.

    • Am I the only one that noticed there isn't a 3rd party sef section in htaccess of j1.59 RT templates? Maybe I missed something. Has it been eliminated for a reason.? Can I copy the section from 1.0x?
