    • Hi all,
Been through entire thread, but doesn't seem like anyone has same issue i'm having.

      I'm using Joomla 1.012 with Elixir 2
No problem getting the tabs with horizontal submenu, and also OK with tabs and vertical submenu - on the LEFT
But no joy getting the submenu to appear on the RIGHT

yes, I have set the parameters within index.php
      $submenu = "vert";
      $submenu_side = "right";

Also have the Latest news module published in the RIGHT position.

Any ideas what I may have missed?
I'm at a loss because it works in all other configurations, but I need it on the RIGHT :-\

      Appreciate your help,

      - Vince

      Great tutorial Ken!

Do you know if it´s possible to have the submenu items hhorizontaly under the horizontal menu?

      /Martin

Anyone knows an answer to this one? I am looking for the same thing. I succeeded with one submenu horizontally (i.e. second level). I am not able to achieve a third level though.

    • Thanks Ken, this is a very clear post.
      I have a related question:

Is there a way to build a menu structure with a mixture of suckerfish and split menu?
      I would like:
      Categories on a horizontal menu
Sections as a drop down from Categories, suckerfish style
When a Category is selected, Items within it appear as a vertical split menu on one side of the page.

I am currently trying to configure Versatility II to do this.
If this is not possible, any alternative suggestions would be welcome.

      Thanks, Tom

    • We've now implemented this using Extended Menu - de.siteof.de/extended-menu.html

As noted elsewhere, the standard of documentation is appaling and you'll want to re-write all the CSS as the examples are 'basic' to say the least, but you can implement what was mentioned above using multiple instances of the menu module.

It includes the ability to 'split' at a specified level within the hierarchy, and can have different style sheets defined for the different areas of menus. To install this on most of the RocketTheme modules, you need to specify 'module' in the menu settings at the top of the template HTML page, then set your main Extended Menu module to appear in the 'Toolbar' module position.

      Hope that helps.

    • hi ken,

i would like to use split-menu just in the public area, that is to say, i want to hide splitmenu´s main menu in the extranet, stablishing another main menu

      do i explain myself?

what about installing the same template twice, changing its names, and assign one template to public zone and another template to extranet

      any suggestion?

i use versatility ii, i have followed some suggestions in those threads but no way

in my opinion, joomla´s one of the biggest problem is the difficulty to mark the parent menu; this is a relevant usability issue

rocketherme´s split-menu is the best solution to sort it out

congratulations to rock mates that have obtain such an essay way to mark properly all the levels

i am really grateful for you support

      sincerely
