Administration graphics missing after live deployment

    • Tried adding a new directory on the server, dev, and copied the entire site to this directory to see if I still had the issue and yes, I still did have the issue. CHMOD directory permissions are all correct, there are no missing files. Still trying everything possible and not finding a solution.

    • Amandeep, if you cannot think of anything else, is there anyone that you can think of that can provide suggestions as to what is causing graphics on the administrative backend to be randomly be missing.

I have tried everything I can think of and you have suggested and still have not been able to diagnose the root cause of the problem. I cannot turn over a project like this to the customer with missing graphics on the administrative back end.

    • Hi Bill Borque ,

I have provided the suggestions which would have probably fixed the issue :)

    • - I've tried the CHMOD 777 several times and it does not make any difference at all.
      - I,ve tried recopying the files and that makes things worse than when I started.
      - I've posted on Joomla.org for 11 days now and re-posted requesting assistance 6 times
to move the topic back to the top.

Is there anyone anywhere who has any ideas on what is causing these issues? I'll take any and all suggestions.

    • Have you tried moving the site with JoomlaPack?
    • Thanks,

    • No. I have JoomlaPack installed but used FTP to move the site from the development server to the live server. I'd have to coordinate with the client for downtime to erase the live server and reload with JoomlaPack.

I still believe the issue is on the server. The reason I believe this is the fact that when I move files over view FTP the problem is seen. If I install the Khepri template on the server itself most of the graphics problems get resolved.

I've spent hours on the phone with the hosting provider and of course, as usual, they are no help whatsoever claiming Joomla must have admin template problems.

    • Well, when you move a site 'manually' you have to make changes in a few files to make sure all the paths are correct.

When you use JoomlaPack, all the paths are corrected automatically.
    • Thanks,
      jim

    • I'll try the JoomlaPack option as a last resort.

BTW, after re-posting 6 times on Joomla.org pleading for assistance as Amandeep had suggested (and being ignored for 10 days) and sending a PM to one of the moderators pleading for assistance, I have now received a warning on cross-posting (accidental) and sending an unsolicited PM. I'm seriously rethinking this whole commitment to Joomla based on the fact that I have basically been told to "go pound sand" from the moderators over at joomla.org.

It's just really sad the support that Joomla.org provides. I do thank RocketTheme for all the assistance. I know it's not your issue and I appreciate the help you have provided.

IMHO, it's something you should try now...

If Joomla and the template work on your local host, it can only be an issue of how you moved the site or a problem with your host.

The whole process only take about half an hour.

To test, install JoomlaPack, create a backup, upload the zipped file to your server, create a sub folder in the root, extract the zip file there, create a new DB and run the install.
    • Thanks,

    • Absolutely. This will be my next step. I just did a move from the remote development server at register.com to a local text PC running XAMP and it worked flawlessly with JoomlaPack JPA compression and Kickstart. I'll be trying this weekend.

      That you so much.
