I suspect it may have to do with your language setup. The only language is Italian.
A lot of templates and extensions are only supplied with English language files. Your site does not have English installed.
Could you install English language and then we can see if that makes a difference.

Any Idea about the error given just after the installation of the template?
It seems quite strange to me because even with the error i can modify the template settings.... for the moment.

No Kat, that happened even without any extension with a clean joomla installation.
However i'm trying to fine another host with apache. I'll keep you informed.

This is on same kind of subject, using Joomla 1.7. I get error of:
XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 13
I cannot access Panacea gantry styles at all as of a week ago. My template has re-set itself to a default setting. I have a local backup of a short while ago on a sub-domain, from which I can re-configure my current site, except it's now too showing me the same error, so I can't access that set of styles either.
I would be so grateful if someone could have a quick super-admin look. I don't want to head down a path of destruction!

i had a look and it seems that some curl functions are disabled on your server.
not sure if that is causing the issue though. can you reinstall gantry and also install another gantry template to see if they give you the same error?
