    • can you check your httpd.conf file and check there is no ErrorDocument 404 statement present.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi Mark:

The relevant lines in my httpd.conf file are commented out:

#ErrorDocument 500 "The server made a boo boo."
      #ErrorDocument 404 /missing.html
      #ErrorDocument 404 "/cgi-bin/missing_handler.pl"
      #ErrorDocument 402 www.example.com/subscription_info.html

I also tried connecting with localhost and got the same result. Attaching a screenshot.

    • Hi Mark:

Have you or the other MODs you had look into this issue been able to identify what the problem is or what the solution might be?

      Thanks.

    • Ali, we did spend a significant amount of time on it last night. We haven't managed to identify the issue but we are all 99% sure it's a server environmental issue and nothing to do with the RT template or Gantry itself. I'm really not sure if php 5.4.7 is anything to do with it either (as it's so new) but it would be really interesting to know if it works on a standard php5.3.x install for you too?

Several of us tried the standard Gantry 4 install in our server environments and the custom 404 page always worked for us.

Unfortunately, we've now reached a stage where the support required falls way beyond the scope of this free support forum. Myself and the other MODS have put quite a bit of time into this but we now have to give priority to the real "RT" threads. Sorry, but I hope you understand.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi Mark:

Well, I took your advice and I backed up the site and moved it onto my VPS on Hostgator (which has PHP 5.4.6) and lo and behold, the 404 is working, so as you said, it is a server-related issue. Having said that, I sincerely doubt that it is PHP, because the changes between 5.4.6 and 5.4.7 are not significant enough to cause that error.

      I am completely stumped.

If you want to check the site on my VPS, the RocketTheme username and password I previously gave you is active and unchanged. The URL is sosdivorce.ergonomiq.net/

Thank you for all your help. Hopefully we can find the solution to this because I personally prefer to work on sites locally rather than remotely.
    • Thank you.
