php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

For me, the "500 php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known" differs slightly from User @Uncas ...
I don't get the error for:--
[Extensions] -> [Extension Manager] -> [Update], or

[Extensions] -> [Extension Manager] -> [Purge Cache]
but I do get the error for:--
[Extensions] -> [Extension Manager] -> [Find Updates], and
-
[Extensions] -> [Template Manager], select any RocketTheme template and click on [Edit].

I'm experiencing the same 500 php_network issue with Metropolis (Gantry 4.1.5, PHP Version 5.3.18, Joomla! 3.0.2 Stable). Wasn't a problem initially .... but now I can't access Gantry to modify the template.
I can't be sure, but it might have become a problem after I installed RokGallery 2.22?

Hi:
Just a short comment re finding. Joomla vanilla install 3.02, presented this error. Site have no RT extension and no RT template.
The error happen just after installing spanish language. Maybe related maybe not, but multilingual could be a factor.
IMO, this error is getting popular and as the blue screen of death in earlier Windows OS incarnations. It is triggered by different reasons...

It has something to do with the way that gantry calls the update server.
Make sure to backup your database before doing this.
Here was the solution for me with Cerulean:
1. Open your database in phpMyAdmin
2. Browse xxxxx_update_sites
3. Edit the row that has Gantry Framework Update Site as the name
4. Set enabled to 0 and save
5. Edit the row with RocketTheme Update Directory as the name
6. In the text field remove the blank space before and after the URL and save
7. Open your Joomla Administration panel
8. Clear all Cache - in J3 go to System > Clear Cache > Click the box to select all > Delete
Assuming it was the same problem I had you should be error free.
I have done this 5 times to make sure that it was consistent, if I revert the changes and clear the cache I get the error every time.
Edit:
After a little more investigation it would seem that this file is improperly formatted and seems to be causing the error. I hosted the file with fixed formatting and it works just fine.

I hosted it on my server with the updated formatting and pointed the Gantry Framework Update Site row to it and it works without errors.

Hy Guys,
I have a same problem and I tried the following:
Extenions -> Extension manager-> Manage -> Serch for "gantry"
I disabled the System - Gantry plugin and after this I can access to my RocketTheme templates.
Of course I got the default layout and I can edit just a few things but it's something.
I think the problem is with the Gantry. Maybe I will uninstall and install again the Gantry and it will help.
I will update you.
