      hi again,

this really seems to be a misunderstanding.

when you open the template parameters and the showcase slider shows "1 position", then you click on "2" and save, it will ALWAYS go back to "1 position".

you can NOT use the slider to publish or unpublish modules, for that you have to use the module manager as with any other template.

all that the layout sliders can do is change the width of those modules that are published.

again i would like to ask you to read the documentation as i suggested in my previous post.
please go to that link and watch the video to fully understand how the sliders work, what they can and can not do.

      thanks, kat :)

    • I'm having a similar problem.

On my new site, I'm trying to add the search option to the top right hand corner of the website.
I'm using Syndicate theme and I have placed the search in position top-f but it shows more like top-b and so I figured it must be down to the gantry slider to increase or decrease the width of each position, so I made the slider go to 5 instead of 1 which made the positions equal in width similar to table widths.

However, no matter how many changes I try to make, it always defaults back to position 1 making me wonder what the sliders are for.

Any light shed on this will be appreciated.

    • Hi Kat,
I tried to save MainBody Position as Layout – fullwidth (1) but nothing changed, it goes back to 2 layout
or is it possible to use fullwidth on gantry theme?
      I'm using it on wordpress.
      Thanks

    • Hi,

I am using Wordpress 3.2.1. I have read the documentation. I am trying to change the number of Bottom position from 1 to 3 (4| 4|4). I have setup 3 text widgets. I have force positions on and number of positions 3. I save and the slider returns to one.

    • Hi,

To have change the number of the positions you need to separate your widgets with Gantry Divider widget. Each divider widget splits position into another column so ie.

Text Widget | Divider | Text Widget | Divider | Text Widget

will give you three Text Widgets in 3 columns, next to each other, but :

Text Widget | Text Widget | Divider | Text Widget

will give you two columns with two rows of text widgets in first column, and one text widget in the second column.

About the saving - please check if the changes are reflected on the front page. If you're doing the layout changes in the Overrides it will still display the default setup, but all changes will be saved. If you want to have full mainbody, just remove in that override all widgets from the sidebar position.

      Thanks,
      Jakub
