    • Hi Kat05!

I have the same problem, but what worked for Trevor and Vitor didn't work for me.

I used the rt_gantry_J15-3.0.7-bundle.tar file to install gantry into my Joomla 1.5.20 site
( www.orlandoadvocate.com ). My host provider is Hostmonster.com. Php version is 5.2.13. I started with Gzip compression on, and have also tried with it off at my site.

After installation, which seemed to go fine, I entered the gantry framework by double-clicking on the gantry template in template administration.

I get the OK message: "Diagnostic checks successfully passed."

Inside the Gantry Framework backend, I can check and uncheck boxes, but none of the changes I make are saved when I click "save."

Even worse, none of the other options are available to me. For example, I cannot make changes to ANY item by clicking on its up or down arrow. The arrows don't respond and the item text itself cannot be selected.

The same goes for the slider bar/button under LAYOUTS. None of the positions can be changed, not even those that already have at least one position published.

Finally, I am also unable to choose any of the presets. They, too, do NOT respond to mouse clicks.

My diagnostics info file can be downloaded using this link: www.orlandoadvocate.com/j15/files/gantry-diagnostics.tgz .

With site set to debug mode, I get NO errors when the Gantry Template is loaded in the backend.

I am using Google Chrome, version 5.0.375.125.
Same result with Internet Explorer 8.0
Same result with Mozilla Firefox 3.6.8

I have already set up super administrative privileges for you or any other appropriate RocketTheme Teamer. I can send a PM with username and password.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I've been scratching my head for several days now.

    • hi kevin,

i have seen the same issue on another site a few days ago and now i basically just copy/paste my answer from the other thread here: :)

i had a look at your site and there is an issue with the template parameters for the following reason: you have the mootools upgrade plugin enabled which is totally fine and causes no problems at all on a zephyr rocketlauncher install, but for some reason it does not work properly on your site.

now, by default joomla 1.5.20 uses mootools 1.1, if you enable that upgrade plugin, then both frontend and backend use mootools 1.2 instead. this is the normal case but not happening on your site.

the gantry template itself is loading the mootools 1.2 files correctly, but joomla itself seems to be stuck at mootools 1.1 and i am not sure why. i believe there is one or more extensions (most likely plugins) installed and enabled on your site which causes this problem.

as a test i suggest that you install a gantry rocketlauncher with sample data on the same server and see if there everything is fine, no matter if the mootools upgrade plugin is enabled or disabled, if that is the case, then it is confirmed that one of your extensions is causing this issue.

right now, if you disable the mootools upgrade plugin on your site then the template parameters work just fine.

you can find the other topic here:
      www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=39..._v=viewtopic#p535590

please let me know if that helps and once you are able to find out which plugin(s) are causing the issue, please let me know.

      kat :)

    • I'm having a simular problem.

      Joomla 1.5.20
      Template: rt_quasar_j15
      Gantry v3.0.7
      PHP 5.2.14
      Browsers tried: Chrome, Firefox, IE8

I moved my site from another ISP to Rochen using Akeeba Backup, everything works fine except Grantry, which freezes when I try to make changes clicking apply or save. So far I have tried all the suggestions above without success. Unstall/reinstall Grantry and tempate, and tried other templates.

I created a new install of Joomla into another directory and rt_quasar_j15 bundle and it works fine. Any suggestions?

    • hi mike,

thank you for the message and the admin details. i have the same issue on your site, the site does not finish loading after hitting apply or save.

i guess we can rule out server issues, rochen is a great host and since you tried a fresh install in a subdirectory which is working fine, the problem must be somewhere else.

i can only think of something when moving the site, even though i never had an issue with akeeba.

for starters you could compare the configuration.php file in the joomla root of both installs on your rochen server, the one that is working and the one that isn't, maybe you find any differences.

    • I have enable ftp layer and also disabled suspected plugins and modules (I only have 5 non standard ones installed) and I still can't change the parameters in the template. parameters.ini is writable. Any thoughts?
I can move the slider for say main body and I can change the number of positions but after I save it returns to the defaults.
Did have mootools upgrade plugin disabled then enabled it but made no difference
Did have load module into article plugin installed and enabled. Have disabled it
I have only installed four modules - google currency convertor, another currency convertor, slideshow and rokslideshow
I have uinstalled joomla flash uploader component

      Template: Zephyr
      Joomla 1.5.20

      hi guideman,

did you try any other settings in the template parameters than the ones under > layouts?

it seems as if you may be misunderstanding how those layout sliders work. if you change the number of positions and hit save or apply, they will always go back to what they were before.

to see what the sliders can and can not do and how they work correctly, make sure to check the documentation on our gantry framework site.
      www.gantry-framework.org/documentation/joomla/configure/layouts

best to check the video tutorial to fully understand how to use those sliders.

      hope this helps, kat :)
