Gantry Problem on 1&1

  • Gantry Problem on 1&1

    • I decided to move my web page to 1&1 and the upload, including the db, went fine. I can also access the backend just fine.

However, the front end doesn't come up at all. It shows me the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function children() on a non-object in /homepages/44/dxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/www.domain.com/components/com_gantry/core/gantrytemplatedetails.class.php on line 49

So, I tried to uninstall and re-install gantry, but that didn't change anything.

Looking around some more I noticed the following odd thing which might be related to the problem above. In the backend the Template Manager shows no templates. However, when I go to Install/Uninstall in the backend I can see all templates just fine.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,
      Jens

    • Are you running PHP 5.2 or newer?

    • Hi Prim & Kat,
I verified that my site is using PHP 5.2.14 on 1&1.

I archived my page and then I uploaded it via ftp. The db I moved with phpmyadmin.

From your replies I am gathering that something is missing. I will try to export the page once more and if that fails again I will try akeeba backup.

      Will report back soon.

      Thank you for your suggestions!

      Best regards,
      Jens

    • Do what Kat says...

Waste no more time and use Akeeba Backup instead! :)

    • .... and be sure to use the latest Akeeba ... lately I had problems with an earlier version of Akeeba and 1&1. It left many things in the config-file blank

    • Hi Henning,

I created an archive with Akeeba Backup 3.1.b3 (latest). I can't upload it with the filebrowser from 1&1 because that one is limited to 20MB. Therefore I am currently loading the file with SSH and WGET. Once it is there I will use UNZIP to unpack it into my folder.

However, I am confused about your config file statement. I mean I pretty much have to create most entries in the config file from hand, right? I mean the host, db name, db user and db password are different on 1&1.

I noticed one interesting thing. When I uploaded Akeeba Backup to my 1&1 web page, I am missing text elements in the newly uploaded component (see attachment). Could this indicate a file permission or ownership problem?

Akeeba Backup Installer is currently running...

      Thanks,
      Jens

    • Hmmm, the restore made it worse than before. Now, I don't even have access to admin anymore...

I will delete everything once more and try the restore again.

    • Hello!

As 1and1 is one of the worst joomla provider not surprise that you are having problem.
I bet id you do ls -al httpdocs is probably own by root not your user accout.

When I do restore from Akeeba Backup I never use there quickstart.php or installation.

I make sure that the database is the same as my configuration.php unpuck and your done

As long you exported your database first and inport it back

    • Hi,
I restore the db with my previous file, but I left the restore files from Akeeba Backup. Now, I am getting a different error message:

      Frontend:

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'joomfishmanager' in /homepages/44/dxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/www.domain.com/plugins/system/jfrouter.php on line 425

      Backend

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /homepages/44/dxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/www.domain.com/plugins/system/mtupgrade/behavior.php on line 52

Do you mean htdocs? That is under my user name.

      Thanks,
      Jens
