I am Using joomla16 on a local host with rt_dominion_j16 - Default. First of all, I would like to thank Henning (and everyone else, for this great documentation (Pdf). Also, please do understand that when I say that I just can't understand the documentation, it is totally my fault and not the documentation. This is my very first time using a Rockettheme template (also great by the way) and Gantry Framework. I usually have no problem adjusting other templates that do not use the Gantry framework but I need to start today for it is a wonderful framework. My problem (actually..problems) is as follow (see attached screenshot)
1. I am trying to adjust the width of the sa and sc to have more width for my mb. My present sa,mb,sb settings are as follow: 2|8|2 but I am still not satisfied for, to me, the width of the mb is still small. Possibly, I need to switch to the 16 column grid but I still do not know how even though your pdf documentation is just perfect (sorry, I am not able to grasp it).
2. I will ask about resolution for my 2 other problems on another post for they do not fall under this post.

hmmm this thread is about the template width as a whole and not about mod positions or layouts of the mainbody and also it's for Joomla 1.5.
I guess you already discovered this?

We have tried everything to get this to work and not succeeded. Even installed Joomla 1.6.5 and tried different browsers etc etc.before reverting abck to a clean isntal of 1.5.23 again.
Theses are our settings for current NEW clean install of Joomla 1.5.23 -

We have followed the instructions in the first post in this article and copied

<param name="dyngrid" default="60" type="text" class="text-short" label="mywidth"/> into the bottom of templateDetails.xml add at the end of the code but before </params></install>
Renamed original templateDetails.xml to templateDetailsorig.xml as backup.
Cleared cache using Tools -> Purge Expired Cache in Admin area.
Cleared cache in Browser as well in case.
Added downloaded version of mywidth.php as supplied by Henning to templates/rt_modulus_j15/features as directed.
Nothing has changed in rt_modulus_j15/parameters/features at all.

Appreciate the input of everyone here as well

One thing that has changed is the style layout but we hope this will realign when the width is adjusted.

Just an FYI, this is the reply I received from RocketTheme Support when I informed them of the issue I was having when trying to change from 12 Column-Layout to a 16 Column-Layout for any J1.6 Template.

Apologies, it seems you have identified a bug in Gantry 1.6, I will create a ticket so that our Gantry developers can address the issue. Due to the upcoming release of the July 2011 template, a fix will not be available for at least a week, if not longer. Sorry for the inconvenience.

not sure why you are posting this here ...
It's not about changing from 12 columns to 16 columns (something tha I have done myself several times without an issue). Please try to keep the forum clean and on the point. This is about changing the width for 12 column template.
The thing most people have issues with when they chnage from 12 to 16 col. is the fact that Joomla does not take changes in "hidden" fields in the ttemplate-options.xml they need to be set "visible".
