Joomla 2.5 Gantry 3.2.15 not saving properly

Hi all,
I do not seem to be able to coax the Gantry 3.2.15 framework to save properly on Joomla 2.5.
I believe that it was specifically updated to address this issue. My server is running on PHP 5.2.17 and MySql 5.0.92.
The issue is particularly prevalent when trying to save any settings on a non-default gantry template (Modulus) layout. None of the settings appear to save in the layout and I have found similar issues on Advanced tabs too...
Does anyone have a solution?

what EXACT settings in the layout are you trying to save?
if you try to set any of the sliders from for example 2 positions to 3 positions and save, then it is normal that it will show 2 positions again after you reopen the template settings.
maybe i am misunderstanding your issue, i tried this locally, also on php 5.2.17 and i can save changes in the layouts and the advanced tab on a non-default modulus template. also tried halcyon and visage and have no issues.
was this site a fresh j2.5.0 install or did you update from j1.7 or something?
also, do you experience this issue with 'SAVE' and/or 'SAVE AND CLOSE'?

Hi,
Thank you for looking into this for me, Kat.
I just tested:-
Go to "Modulus - Home" Template
Checkbox tick Layout/Mainbody Positions
Set SBA/MB/SBB 3/6/3
Save and close
Result: Reload page and on Home page the layout is still MB/SBA 9/3
I then tried:-
Go to "Modulus - Home" Template
Checkbox tick Layout/Mainbody Positions
Set SBA/MB/SBB 3/6/3
Save
Close
Result: Reload page and on Home page the layout is still MB/SBA 9/3
For the record, when I go back into the template, the check box is not still ticked to say that the setting is not inherited.
Additionally, these steps work when enabling and disabling Display Mainbody in Advanced...
Please could you confirm if you are seeing these issues?
I'm afraid I can't remember if this is a fresh as I have installed several different test sites over the last couple of days.
FWIW, I do have a RocketLauncher version which has been updated and it seems to be working both ways...

I should also mention that the install that is having problems seems to have 2 copies of the template in the listings.
I believe I uploaded first the bundle and then the template standalone.
I assumed that this was just a display issue as they seem to change in lockstep, but I thought you may need to know...

Hmmm... Slightly embarrassingly, since going to the RocketLauncher version and coming back, I have now found that the issue appears to have been resolved...
I'm not sure exactly what the problem was - perhaps using the working version refreshed the cache?
Any ideas?

Ok - sorry about this, there still seems to be something odd going on...
I have a custom module (just a bit of ispum lorem text) published on SBA and one on SBB.
On the default layout, I can switch between 3/6/3, 3/3/6 and 6/3/3, but then when I try to change to 9/3 and set only 2 columns and remove SBB from the layout, the SBB module remains.
Is this expected behaviour? Do I need to remove the SBB module from the menu item that it is pointed to before I change the layout?
I also found that if I have it set as 3/3/6 and then change to 9/3, the layout stays as 3/3/6, so it doesn't even change to 6/3/3 - moving the positions but retaining the number of columns...

The behaviour is different on the RocketLauncher install...
On the Features template:-
Change 3/6/3 to 6/3/3 or 3/3/6 works fine.
Change from 3/3/6 to 9/3 without specifically changing the setting (as it defaults to 2 positions 9/3) changes to 6/3/3.
Change from 3/3/6 to 9/3 specifically changing the setting to 1 position back to 2 positions at 9/3 gives no change and stays as 3/3/6...
Hopefully, that should give you enough to repro...

this is the expected behavior. if you see 2 positions when you open the template settings and then change to 1 position and save, it will always go back to 2 positions after you reopen the template settings. you can NOT use the sliders to publish or unpublish positions (going from 1 position to 2 positions or from 2 positions to 1 position) that's not what the sliders are used for. if you want to add or remove modules, you have to do that in your module manager as with any other template.
please let me know if that helps and if you see any other issues apart from that.
