    • hi all,

we have reported this to our developers and hope this will be resolved soon.
so far i have been unable to replicate this issue though (using fresco).
i am wondering which templates are you trying and are there other gantry templates installed on your sites that may or may not work at the same time?
while you are able to access the template settings, please have a look at the 'advanced' tab and let me know what the settings are for 'gantry cache' and 'gantry gzipper'.

      thanks, kat :)

    • As far as i see: If gantry cache is disabled, it works fine... but lets take some time :)

    • Hi Kat,

Gantry cache and Joomla cache both on. You may not see it on the first page load of the templates component. Bit eventually you will get this fatal error. Resolved by clearing Joomla cache. Tested with Zephyr and Quantive

    • Hello yet again...

In order to reproduce this, I have been able to narrow down the steps required.

First, set Joomla cache to on and presumably Gantry cache as well.

Reduce your cache time to 1 minute in global configuration (so you aren't waiting around for cache to expire in order to test).

      Navigate to:

      administrator/index.php?option=com_templates

Wait 1 minute, or 2 to play it safe, then reload:

      administrator/index.php?option=com_templates

You should get a blank screen or with php errors on:

Fatal error: plgSystemGantry::getMasters() [<a href='plgsystemgantry.getmasters'>plgsystemgantry.getmasters</a>]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition &quot;GantryRegistry&quot; of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /home/domain/public_html/plugins/system/gantry/gantry.php on line 299

      To repair, go to:

      administrator/index.php?option=com_cache

and delete all or, to narrow down the problem, delete only:

      com_templates

      Reload:

      administrator/index.php?option=com_templates

Should be fixed, but will recur when cache expires.

[EDIT: Disabling gantry cache does not repair this. MAkes sense since deleting com_templates not Gantry in the Cache list is what solves the problem]

I'm curious what hoster are you with?
Here are my results using YOUR template :)

Gantry Cache Timeout = Enabled ->900ms
Joomal Cache = 1 min. set to ON tried with both Conservative and Progressinve caching
      Navigated to administrator/index.php?option=com_templates
Waited 4 min then reloaded administrator/index.php?option=com_templates
      Works Fine

Then added in Joomla Gzip -> Enabled
      RokBooster -> Enabled
      Navigated to administrator/index.php?option=com_templates
Waited 4 min then reloaded administrator/index.php?option=com_templates
      Works Fine

My testbed above is on HostGator.

Also, all you early adopters of v2.5.5 should be aware of the JoomlaTracker page as we may see more of these popup -> JApplication::registerEvent() is not static anymore causing a fatal error

Thanks, the problem with labeling people early adopters (which in this context has a negative connotation - like we should know better to apply updates so quickly), many Joomla updates have important security fixes (as you know) so early adoption is important.

    • OK, no matter if Gantry Cache is activated or not... wait a while (1h) and the error while loading "administrator/index.php?option=com_templates" is back.

Now try it with J-Cache off...

If you want to compress the time it takes to reproduce this error, simply reduce the cache time to less than an hour.

Time to create page: 0.060 seconds
