When I try to log into the Rockettheme site via my Joomla back-end in the Update Manager (Extension Manager > Update) I get this error:
A communication error occured communicating with the RocketTheme update server. Please try again later.
Is it possible that the Rockettheme update server is also down?
Grasping at straws here

Maybe it's a network issue at your webhost?

I tried to do click on the template in template manager from my mobile device, and it gave me the same error - on a different network. So I am wondering if it is not perhaps a server issue.
What will happen if I delete the table entry for this update in the MySQL database under update_sites?

Thanks - I have given up so to say. I have reinstalled Joomla (2.5) this time and it is working now.
So it is definitely some sort of connection issue with Joomla 3 methinks.
Happened to me on 2 other sites on the same server - so it must be a server / firewall issue. Or something like that. Just funny that it works in Joomla 2.5. Perhaps the check for updates in Joomla 2.5 is less fatal than in Joomla 3?

This error is haunting me again, but this time its related to a non rt/gantry extension.
An error has occurred.
0 Could not connect to resource: index.php?option=com_poweradmin&task=checkUpdate&file=update.xml
this error i got on a site were i'v installed acacia standalone template /w gantry.
so I installed Acacia RocketLauncher J31 in a new subdomain, then I installed poweradmin.
(afther that i started to get the 0 error when i try open the template, in template manger or tried to run any updates)
So i did a database fix
- /index.php?option=com_installer&view=database
and applied the rokupdatesclean aftherwards.
When i did this i no longer get the 0 could not connect to resource when i try to edit the template on that site. But i got the error when i tried to run updates.
