      Hi Matt,

Thanks, I deleted the custom page and went with the hidden menu option.

I didn't understand how to do Dan's method, but would be interested.

      Jim

So if I've understood you correctly then this is what I would have written as a guide:

      1) Home menu item -> G5 custom theme page
      2) Create your BLOG page and create an Outline for it. Then assign the page to this BLOG Outline
      3) Create your K2 content that you need linked with a menu item
      4) Create a new menu item for your K2 item and assign it to your parent BLOG menu item
This is the Home page layout:

This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

      5) Click the link in your content to test it:

This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

The link works as we see our K2 item using the BLOG page which uses the BLOG Outline

      6) In the Outline edit screen go to the MENU screen and from the BLOG dropdown click the cog for the K2 menu item:

This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

In the modal window turn this item to the Disabled View condition by sliding the Power button to OFF (Red). SAVE

      7) Go to the Home page and click the content link and you will see that the link still works but the display of the K2 menu item link has been disabled:

This image is hidden for guests.
Please log in or register to see it.

    • Thank you so much for this... My site went back to creating the incorrect links for the articles. I tried it in Firefox and Edge and there were no problems. I cleared my cache in Chrome and this helped the issue.

For my own knowledge... couple of clarifications on the language for the site.

      2) Create your BLOG page and create an Outline for it. Then assign the page to this BLOG Outline
Blog page - See attached - Xenon - Blog Home --- is this a page?
Is an Outline, the same thing as a layout?

Okay in Gantry 4 or Joomla Protostar with no framework:
All non-Home menu pagesassigned to a Default or Master template
Joomla Home Menu pageis assigned to another template, say "Home", called an override that overrides the Default or Master template
user created Joomla Blog Menu pageis assigned to another template, say "Blog", called an override that overrides the Default or Master template

      In Gantry 5:
All non-Home menu pagesassigned to a Xenon-Default Outline (think template)
Joomla Home Menu pageis assigned to another Outline, say "Xenon-Home", called an override that overrides the Xenon-Default Outline (think template)
user created Joomla Blog Menu pageis assigned to another Outline, say "Xenon-Blog", called an override that overrides the Xenon-Default Outline (think template)

      Hope that clears it up.
