SOLVED Particles - Free or per template?

Posted 3 years 4 months ago
    • I am running a 'bare' configuration of J!4, G!5 and Hydrogen.
Looking for the particle that can replace good old Rocksprocket.
Currently I only have the particles that come with this setup (see attachement).

Are all the other particles only included in RT Templates?
      Beste, Jmblr

    • Yes there are hundreds. A complete matrix can be downloaded here https://rockettheme.com/forum/gantry5-for-joomla/274835-gantry-5-particles-the-matrix-v1-14 . Rather than thinking of it as a replacement for roksprocket (which you won't find) think of it as a replacement for a particular roksprocket layout/theme (e.g. accordion, slideshow, tabs, etc).

There are also my free particles here https://rockettheme.com/forum/free-particles

You can copy particles from other templates - If you want to know how to copy a Gantry 5 particle from one template to another please read my tutorial here in Gantry 5 Official Documentation here .

DO NOT copy every single particle into your one website - it will kill performance - copy only what you actually need.

There are also third-parties that make particles for Gantry 5 too.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Thanks, will do.
Btw: are particles created by RT team members or can subscribers also contribute?

    • All particles in RT themes are written by RT.

If you want to write your own particle and share it then you can post in "free particles" forum - makes sure it's 100% your own work though and not any modification of our particles.

      Regards, Mark.
