Good evening all,
New RocketTheme customer, I share your opinion regarding the lack of new templates. Nevertheless, I will nuance this a little with my feedback.
I was at Yoothme under Warp 7 for many years. PHP 7.3 becoming obsolete with Yootheme it was necessary to upgrade to Yoothme Pro. Yootheme Pro's problem is that it's also a page builder. This means that it is impossible to easily leave this template provider afterwards. It is a captive system. Forced to redo everything, for example if Yoothme goes bankrupt.
So I went looking for templates compatible with Joomla 4 and PHP 7.4 or better 8. Not easy to find with a reliable editor over time, known, stable, reassuring with real support.
It's hard to imagine the amount of work to make all these templates compatible with J4/PHP8. This must explain the absence of new templates.
A few tries right to left (Joomlart etc...) to finally decide to trust Rockettheme.
All this to say that I clearly favor the reliability over time of a template provider that updates these templates continuously compared to Joomla and PHP versions.
The support here with Mr T is very responsive, effective, sometimes a little harsh
to tell you that this is not the responsibility of the support but it is much better than Yootheme for example or the support is downright bad (no response or evasive).
The RT doc is complete and good.
So it's true that the RT themes are too similar (menu etc.), that the styles are a bit old. But relying on Grantry and Helium (open source) is also a guarantee over time.
You are right about the lack of communication which in the end is counterproductive…
To conclude, as a new Rocketthme customer, I am comparatively really happy with my subscription.
Have a good evening.
