Outline and Module Assignment not working anymore

  • Outline and Module Assignment not working anymore

    Posted 4 years 7 months ago
    • Hi Guys,

      we've a strange beaviour we didnt had before on any Website build with Gantry 5...

      The Outlines we have assigned to several menu items (e. g. home) arent working anymore – only the default Outline is still working. So, modules cant show up like they should (because the module positions arent there).

      If we deactivate the SEO URLs, everything works again...

      Any Ideas?

      Regards

    • SO, it's your SEO plugin changing the urls?

      Please would you post your URL, superuser id and pswd in the secure tab of your post and I'll have a look for you.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi MrT,
      it is the original joomla SEO URL Plugin... And it worked until our last update session, where we updated joomla and everything.

      Ive edited the first post and provided you the login data.

      Look for the "Home" Outline, which doesnt have any effect... or look for the "test" Module, which only should only show up at the menu item "Neubauprojekte" and the Outline "Neubau"... And if you switch off the SEO URLs, it works, otherwise not.

      Thank you! We've a lot of Gantry 5 Pages out there but this problem is new to us... very strange, we even installed the latest G5 Template...

      Regards

    • Whether SEO is enabled or disabled in global config makes no difference. The wrong outline is being used.

      This usually happens with old or poorly written third-party extensions. What you need to do is disable all third-party extensions (in extensions manager > manager) one at time (clearing server and browser cache between each change) until you find the culprit.

    • Hi Mark,

      I've tried to disable and reactivate all third-party-extensions and found out, that two plugins (Regular Labs Adv. Module Manager + b01 Libray) are causing the assignment bug... The Module Manager isn't really neccessary but the library plugin is... we're in contact with the creater of that plugin but at first, they said it has to be something with Gantry 5... Thank you.

      Regards,
      Tobias

    • Ok that's good news - at least you're one step closer to a solution... but it is the developer of that third-party extension that will have to give you a solution.

      Thanks for letting us know and please do let us know if they fix it for you.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi Mark,

      the problems came from the interaction of Gantry 5 and a german extension named "Prime" (it is for real estate).

      The extension developer said, that there are problems with Gantry 5 and that your templates aren't compatible with some joomla standards:

      JText::script('MYCOM_MY_JS_CONST');
      $template = JFactory::getApplication()->getTemplate();

      Those to lines in a system plugin led to the problem. Maybe you can fix this in an update of Gantry 5?

      Regards, Tobias

    • I've asked our lead developer to answer here. I honestly don't believe this is a Gantry 5 issue but let's see what he says.
