    • The SmartLoad feature is now part of Gantry and latest template. But how do they do it?
I know I seen something very similar on few sites out there that werent built with gantry, rockettheme or joomla for that matter. Does anyone have some info on this script/feature?

    • cool site, however for one reason or another smartload is not documented other then mention of it in the gantry 3.0.1 update.

what im really looking for is a way to use smartload feature in other environments other then joomla/rocketheme+joomla. short of taking the gantry framework apart is there another way?

    • brief mention of it in the gantry news section with a vague description, but indeed no details.

"Another new and useful feature we've added in the core, is a new SmartLoad Feature. This feature causes only those images visible in the current view-port to load initially, and then as you scroll down and view more images, they are loaded dynamically. This smart-loading provides faster page loads, and also a nice effect as you view the rest of the web page."

    • hello,

Do you know if it would be possible to exclude some plugins from "smart loading" because actually, many images gallery are plugin based, and not from a component.
And with the smart load on, popup galleries aren't working any more

      thanks

    • well in fact it even conflict with basic html resizing
ex: <img height="250" etc if the picture is smart loaded , then it will be displayed full size.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

      thanks

    • Im having same trouble with smartload. I have images set at a slightly smaller size using JCE, but beacuse of smartload the images are shown in the actual size and the html override is ignored.

      thanks,

      hi there,

smartload works best if the images are uploaded in the correct size and when the width and height attributes are added to the article html. if you want to use jce resized images i suggest to not use smartload because it can not function properly and you get the results that you mentioned.

    • Hi, I just wanted to ask, when I use SmartLoad where or how can I get
a loading image.gif instead of seeing a alt text when image is
      loading.
      Thank you Dennis
