I've solved allot of stuff after while guys thanks. My bodies acclaiming to the joomla -rocket-permissions-installation-cms-theme -suckerfish-log-on etc -type temperature.
Looking around now.
2 questions:
1. Tell me how do I get that cool slideshow link discount. I saw this somewhere but cant find it.
2. Is there a good spell check for Joomla page editing?
OH! and turning off those global things in red. Where do you do this? phpMyAdmin?
I know I'm milking this thread for as much as I can. Tell me to stop if go overboard - but I am looking around for answers. I finally understand about specific theme forums. duh.

2) You can get spell checkers in your Browsers - there are ones for FF and IE, not sure about the otherse

Thanks for the link i just got the mondo slide for a few extra bucks. I did not see it in bendobox section. Having issues following how to add this slideshow in anywhere. Seems straight forward but I don't have a clue. Working on making my way though the posted stuff.
On the "Turn off/on this stuff" This --> Just want the best security settings. Not sure how to manage these options.
# PHP magic_quotes_gpc setting is `OFF` instead of `ON`
# PHP register_globals setting is `ON` instead of `OFF`
# Joomla! RG_EMULATION setting is `ON` instead of `OFF` in file globals.php

I read it - Think I'll have our server managers figure it out a little over my head at the moment Thanks.
I read you mentioned frontpage-slide show in the mondoslide show section. Actually not that one but the simple one. the other seems beeter. Which is better to use and set up? I know Iv been having issues with installing the mondo. Is there one better how to vs. another? On Mondo - Editors off- mondoslideshow folder on root joomla with everthing in it that came with the software.
How do I have this slide show show up on a page? Totally lost. I can get it to work but direct link to the folder so I know it works. Just not how to put it on a page. Thinking I can add some code I saw posted in HTML mode. Nothing. Very frustrating maybe moving to fast in Joomla. Not for someone who just figured out how to ad links and content.

Might want to try reading the Bentobox threads for Monoslideshow. I have never used so cannot help you in that regards. The frontpage slideshow from
www.joomlaworks.gr
is a full integrated joomla module unlike the monoslideshow which may be better suited to your needs. Ive never used this either but it looks cool

Thanks checking it out. With all the stuff you can do with Joomla modules etc. Wouldn't you want to keep some of these uploads for other sites? Or do you have to pretty much start over with a new site and install and then install all the bots, components mods etc. Or can you copy past and change the database stuff.
Just not sure how one would go about it. Talking about joomla... i guess templates have stuff installed hmm a bit confusing maybe there is a link somewhere to read about it.
