    CRM's CiviCRM - SugarCRM - or?

Posted 14 years 9 months ago
    • Has anyone tried CiviCRM? Can it be used outside the not-for-profit sector? How customizable is it? I tried the demo, but half of it is in Spanish, so a little limited on what does what.

I've read lots of reviews for SugarCRM, it sounds great, but has a hefty price.

      Any thoughts or ideas?

      thanks!

    • I used CiviCRM on one site and it's a huge system and very clunky. It's geared towards non profits but I don't see why it couldn't be used private sector. I'm just not sure I would. I don't know anything about SugarCRM.

    • Thanks meom, I tried the demo to CiviCRM and it is huge, but lacks some of the components that Sugar does.

I also came across iCRM, after trying the demo, it may be what I go with. Anyone have experience with it?

    • After much deliberation I have chosen to go with SugarCRM. They answered all the questions I had, and even pointed out a few things I hadn't thought of. I found a plugin that allows direct access to the joomla core db from sugar, so that you can share one db between the two systems. Really, really nice.
