It is actually really really simple. Im in the process of making a green technopia one
All the CSS is contained within forum.css which makes editing so much easy. The rest is images. which can be easily altered.
Its best to take an existing Fireboard theme and then customise it
Yup, it isn't exactly rocket science. Working with an existing one is a very good idea. Mine were initially based on the Dorian (i think that was the name) template but I replaced about 80% of the css and 60% or more of the images.
