rockettheme and JReviews

    • I am back to RocketTheme! With the new responsive Kirigami template. The Fusion Menu now being CSS-based enticed me. Only lost 1 point in page speed because of the responsive template re-sizing images to 0px 0px.

JReviews is working great on it. No broken JavaScript and I didn't have to change any settings in JCH Optimize.

    • Been using the RT Voxel theme with Jreviews for quite some time now and everything has been working great. Plus, any requests/problems I had regarding the template I got a great and fast support from the RT team. So, if you want an RT Theme I would say go for it!:)

I just did site optimization with JCH Optimizer. Got Page Speed in to the 80's, which with Java-heavy extensions such as RT and JReviews is pretty good. It took hours, checking JReviews JS files one by one and excluding them. RokGallery gave me a lot of problems. I had to place the JavaScript files at the first Java tag which is something I didn't have to do with other sites.

This post http://www.reviewsforjoomla.com/forum/index.php?topic=19072.0 details what I had to do. I still have to do a CDN and compress background images.

I am very happy with the results. RT templates and JReviews are probably two of the "heaviest" extensions for Joomla! and it's great to get them working together with a good Page Speed score.

BTW: the "remember me" box: There are posts all over the forum about this, most of them unanswered, because there are a few that RT devs DID answer. You can turn off input styling or add '#rt-popuplogin' to the input styling exceptions. Keep in mind that FireFox will NOT automatically fill in the password. There are lots of complaints about this. I don't know if it's a RT problem or a FF problem.

[EDIT] I am not using an RT template anymore on this project. Not that there were any problems, it's just that for this particular project I need page speed scores in the 90's, which I am afraid is impossible with JReviews+JomSocial+RT. One of them had to go... [/EDIT]

Your site is pretty fast considering all the components you're running. Could you share you JCH Optimizer configuration and list of excluded files on this site?

    • What settings are you using and ver of jReiews? Im using the most up to date ver of RT, Gantry, and jReviews and CB. Ive tried very setting tweek possible and more than one template including the one you are using on your site. But I COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK CORRECTLY! The detail listing page will not display. And now when I change back to Joomla Template Breeze20 I get this error on the detail listing page.

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /public_html/libraries/gantry/gantry.php on line 267

I will welcome any any help.

      Thanks

    • That problem sounds more server-related than anything else. What are your hosting specs (PHP, etc?)

I have designed eight JReviews sites in total on both RT- and non-RT templates without coming across a similar problem. First, turn off all your extra plugins and extensions (starting with CB) and see if that resolves the problem. I believe it is highly unlikely that JReviews by itself, no matter what version, could cause a Gantry error.

Please post your PHP specs and hosting provider name, and a list of additional components/plugins you have installed.

    • Eveything with jReview was working with all componets/plugins that was installed using Joomla's temp Beez2. The listing stopped working after I installed RT template Leviathan and Gantry and I tried other temps as well. But now I had my hosting comp do a backup of when it was working and now Beez2 is doing the same thing. So I think it might be a server issue.

Im using Hostgator for my hosting.

    • You were right, it was a plugin causing the conflict. Geocode Factory - Joomla content was the old plugin. RT is working great now.

      Thanks for your help.

    • Hello,

I am using the Leviathan them from RT and using JReviews also experiencing the same issues. I am also using Hostgator. On the other hand i am not using Geocode Factory - Joomla content. What else can be the issue?
