I think it won't be as easy as upgrading, but it will be migrating=pain in the ass that breaks site.
Check out official tutorials. Athough they are all messed up I think. One is empty, one says it's for 1.5 to 1.6. What a terrible mess with documentation.

- I think Joomla is about to upgrade its self out of business. It is a tough sell to tell a client that the web site I sold them a few months ago has to go through a major rebuild to update. I had high hopes that the update feature in 2.5 would put an end to this madness. But, from what I have read on the Joomla web site that is not so.

because the step from 2.5 to 3.0 is not simply an upgrade but more of a migration. joomla 2.5 and 3.0 are totally different.

our current versions of gantry, templates and extensions are NOT compatible with joomla 3.0.

Hi Kat,
I am just going to play with 3.0 & get familiar with the new features. I will wait till Rockettheme comes out with 3.0 compatible themes before migrating. Maybe just wait till 3.5 comes out & just test with 3.0.

First think I did this morning when I woke up, was get a fresh J3.0 install and try one of your templates and extensions...
It was a sad moment....
But, Yaani, if I was you, I would visit THIS thread to see what the almighty Andy Miller has to say about J3.0! - RocketTheme rocks the themes!
