    Remove various copyright

Posted 11 years 3 months ago
    • I download the kinetik template for Joomla 2.5. So how can remove the "Designed by" and "Powered by" from the copyright component?

      The site is www.cerm.unifi.it/cerm25/

      Thanks

    • Very very frustrating how if I bought a subscription to use your templates 6 months ago but it now has since expired and I haven't had time to begin working on a template until now...that I can no longer come into these forums and review the template-specific forum...

Perhaps you folks at Rocket Theme can please enable read-only forum access to the various templates to people who have previously subscribed (many times), like me. I've been a customer of Rocket Theme for a long time but this is painful that I need to pay to renew my subscription when I'm not in need of any new templates and am simply seeking documentation for something that I've already rightfully downloaded in the past.

Please change your forum permissions around to help out previous PAYING subscribers looking for documentation on templates they already grabbed. I definitely won't renew my subscription just because I can't see the forums now, if I need new templates or additional site licenses or updates to a template...that would be a good reason for my renewing again... All this teaches me to do is that next time I get a subscription here, I just run an HTML crawler to save everything in the forums so I can refer to it later. Thanks.

    • Hi David,

Thanks for your feedback to which I have replied...

This is an area that was commented on by members in our survey last year. As you can see we have taken on board those comments and you can now purchase individual templates with lifetime upgrades and specific forum access. Any other subscriptions fall under the old terms and once a subscription is expired then so is the access.

Template documentation is available to every member, even with expired subscriptions, so if you are "simply seeking documentation for something" then you already have access. If you consider the reality of our subscriptions where you can download every template during your membership, then people would expect access to every forum forever. Answering forum posts takes time and costs money, which is why they are restricted to active subscribing members or template purchasers.

That request is like buying a car from a dealer and then after the warranty has expired expecting to call in at the dealership and get free advice just in case you might or might not buy another car from them. You could indeed run a crawler but I sure hope you have plenty of storage as our forum are pretty big!

Alternatively you could just make sure that your future purchases are single template purchases to get the ongoing support and access.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

      Regards

    • Hey David, thanks a bunch for your reply and time spent addressing it, I do appreciate it. One point that you may be missing however, is where I was asking that you guys allow for read-only forum access to the templates...I suppose you mentioned other clients voiced this awhile back. By allowing for read-only you would be providing the benefit of users like me coming back to work on a project that was only halfway completed during my subscription and still getting useful information on the template that many other people likely have already addressed. To your point of it taking a lot of time to address forum posts by customers, again, if it was read-only for previously subscribed customers, folks like me who don't have a subscription at the moment simply cannot post, thus not increasing your workload at all. This also addresses your point of asking for advice on a car after it's warranty expires... Yes my cars warranty may have expired, however it doesn't stop me from standing in the lobby and listening to what advice the mechanics provide to customers who still have an active warranty, and maybe I'll get lucky and overhear something that I'm also having an issue with ;p Mind you, I've re-subscribed with you guys many times and would continue to do so regardless of a forum lock-down based on templates, I'm simply saying that I don't find it to be a lure to get me to re-subscribe here. I do admit that I like the idea of buying the template and "owning" it outside of a subscription, but I still feel pretty strongly about allowing read-only forum access to the templates...I respect you guys and I'll continue to be a customer since you folks make outstanding products, but I don't see the big picture still if you follow the points that I've made.

Also, if you would be so kind, could you please direct me to the documentation for the template Diametric? I'm not sure if you were referring to the info within the Demo or not?...I'm having a terrible time finding out more info on where the Rocket Theme copyright logo and URL link are located within the template's code/html/php/xml etc. I was hoping to find the actual code and not just rely on the template manager/gantry framework.

      Thanks once more.

    • Hi David,

Check top menu - Joomla - WordPress - Magento - phpBB - Docs - Forum

Go to Docs and select the Joomla Templates on right of screen.

I understand your point about not adding to workload but it would do is encourage those that do renew currently to hold off and see if they can find a solution from someone else posting a similar problem.

As for copyright why not try your template directory and look in the features folder ;)
