    • I am 100% convinced this is not "buggy" code (as you put it) - it will either be your content or your server.

RT does not provide performance and tuning services as part of this support forum. If you seek PAID assistance then please post in the "marketplace" forum.

I did have another look at your site and I can see that you have a video file download that is being aborted. Try disabling that video module on your site and see if that makes a difference. Interestingly that video file is colossal in size and whilst this is attempting to be downloaded (before it gets aborted) it will stop anything else being downloaded.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Ok. I hear what you are saying about content but the 11 second delay applies to all the pages with or without video. By my examination also, the delay isn't on the scripts themselves but the html page in my firebug window

    • Yes "waiting" means "the server is busy doing something else so cannot server the request". It's "waiting" to be able to deliver the html. Ther server has to construct the rendered html by executing all sorts of scripts (backend) and php - this 50,000 ft view of "waiting" does not help you to determine what is taking so long on the server at all.

Clone the site locally or on another server - until you do this you will never eliminate anything.

      Regards, Mark.

    • I finally got to do a local migration using MAMP. The page hangs 11 seconds on the local server as well.

    • Please tell me where to download the jpa file so I can test this myself locally (do not attempt to attach to this post).

    • Fantastic! I useed the ZIP container but I don't think that matters to you. By the way, this is the whole site EXCEPT for the video files to try to keep the size down.

    • So... I loaded your site locally and got the same delay as yourself (12 seconds). So I did this...

      1. disabled jotcache and cleared server cache
      2. Updates Lumiere to V1.7 (form V1.4)
      3. reinstalled Gantry 4.1.31

Still no difference at this stage (so it's nothing RT related)

      4. I noticed your Joomla version was only J3.4.8 (which is insecure and contains bugs) so Updated Joomla to 3.6.0

Now site loaded in 5 seconds! (so I would suggest a possible hack or corruption of the joomla files which an update corrects by overwriting the files with authentic code).

      5. Updated Joomla to 3.6.2

Site still loads in 5 seconds

      6. Enabled jotcache again

Site now loads in 3.5 seconds

So, it look like your Joomla was either corrupted or had been hacked.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Yeee Haaaw!
For some reson I stopped updating Joomla a while back. I think I was afraid it might break the site going up to 3.6+

I am going to keep Lumiere at 1.4 unless you think there are vitals needed in the latest version since I have a few mods done on the template...can't remeber what it's been so long.

      Thanks again for everything!

    • :)

Do I think that there are "vitals" in the Lumiere template update - yes I do... look at the changelog. So I think that you should update (which is perfectly safe to do provided that you have not changed any of our original template files).

btw - I hadn't realised that you do not have a subscription. If I had have no known I would not have spent some much time on this topic. Support does require a current subscription - hopefully I have just proved that is well worth the investment.

      Regards, Mark.
