I am really sad and also dont know what to do now!
I´m just a user who dug himself into creating a few website with RT and Gantry... and needed some help here and there without deeper knowledge of html etc.
So now everthing including the support will be shut down soon and I really have a problem now for the future... which of these following options would be working best for me:
- stay with RT and Gantry as long as it runs (never knowing any future incompatibility with Joomla or PHP versions)
- stay with Joomla without Gantry, but try to convert my pages to another theme supplier (which one might be the most stable regarding the future???)
- move to WP (and having to get accustomed to a completely new CMS and having to convert three live sites to WP with also the question which theme suppliers might be longer on the market)
I guess I am not the only one with that problem and I am really shattered by the announcement of the RT closing.

There will be lots of people in this situation, me included.
I think worth keeping a cool head for now - Joomla 5 has over 2 years before it is out of support and php 8.2 until end of 2026. So at least 18 months before things should become an issue. Long before then it should become clear if Gantry has a future - if it does then hopefully all good for now, although presumably the templates themselves may have issues with php8.3 / Joomla 6.
Moving to WP would make no sense to me - why throw away the whole website because the display layer needs replacing? I've built a website on WP and it was / is a total nightmare in comparison. Sure WP folk will say the opposite, but moving to WP seems like a big overreaction.
