There is just too much there for them to bug squash in a reasonable amount of time.
What kind of 'bugs' are you running into, Ben? Perhaps I could help you resolve them...JS1.1 is going to add some nice features, but the bugs are almost nonexistant now, so I am curious what kind of problems you are having...'bug' wise. The biggest hurdle has been to tweak the code to play nicely with template clubs' templates. ;)

Here's one of my posts that lists some of the things:
      http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=21&t=49321&hilit=%20jomsocial&rb_v=viewtopic#p256989

I've posted this on the JomSocial forum as well and the answer seems to be "we fixed it for users from this point forward" when there is a fix. That works fine...unless you have a thousand users.

The default values not affecting anything is the one that gets me the most. Like turning off "messaging"...what does that even do anyways? Either way it's set, you can still PM and you still get notifications. I'd like to be able to turn off PM capability because then my users would use the phpBB3 PM system and I wouldn't have two PM options running.

I think anything you guys make interacting with phpBB3 should rest on phpBB3's strong points (pretty much everything they offer) and then focus on your system for the "fun stuff", photos, walls, twitter, etc.

I think my biggest gripe is that the default permissions should actually be admin default permissions and be able to override the users decision. This way if you have a group of users that start posting inappropiate stuff, you can always make things "registered users only" and use the age disclaimer during sign up as a start to being legal. This becomes a concern on any social site at some point and would be helpful...and it's just one example. What if members want to post personal info like phone numbers but don't change their own permissions? Sure, as web people, we look out for that, but these are users that want things to be idiot proof.

    • I'm wondering if the title of this thread should be changed to JomSocial

      Point taken....
As for what the talk has been amongst the moderators here, the only thing we've thought of that hasn't been done by RT yet is having the template make a pizza for you!

...so in anticipation of this months release, go ahead and hook up an Ethernet line to your microwave and get ready to install :cheesy: !

Warning: This uses a considerable amount of bandwidth!

I'll check out your post and respond over on the other side in the morning, sir...but rest assured, 50% of the features you are seeking are in store for the next major release (mid-Feb) just a few weeks away (like advanced privacy and more control over all aspects of JomSocial, userpoints, activity stream integratons, etc)....some were addressed in the current release (1.0.128), like cleanly removing members from the Joomla user tables and purging the JomSocial side of the house, etc, etc....

And the tooltip issue is something with your template and Joomla, seriously....simply using JHTML::tooltip Joomla code. :)

And while you wait for the 50%, go download the new SuperActivity Module and you can have it today :)

    • CB's only drawback is not releasing what's being worked on and what's coming up...if they do, you know you won't see it for another year or two. (Even if you're a subscriber, which I am).

Had I seen this I may have made a different decision on a social medium.

If its behind closed doors too long, even if it is better, it's still useless to us!

    • Okay, before the big RT 2.0 Release - I would get one notice of a new post per thread, even if there was like say ummm - 20 post after that one. But now I get a notice every time someone post in any thread I am subscribed to.

This is annoying. So, either stop posting in this thread or please, please, with sugar on top...tell me how to make it stop.

I don't want to unsubscribe to this thread but I don't want a billion emails...every time someone post. (I've gotten 28 emails off of 3 threads in the last 1&1/2 hours.)

      :P Thanks,
      Wingman

Oh, and by the way - it isn't even near the first of the month!!! :P

    • Use Gmail or Google Apps...it's free and you'll have one conversation that you can either read, ignore, or delete!

For any critics of this system out there...when you have more than $200 billion backing your system and offer it free to me, I'll start listening.
