For any critics of this system out there...when you have more than $200 billion backing your system and offer it free to me, I'll start listening.
Yeah, but it use to not do that before - back in RT 1.0 Days.
Also, the government has lots of money and offers lot's of free stuff and I wouldn't follow them blindly. Plus, look at the last "Star Wars" by Lucas - that man has lot's of money backing his system and he put out JaJa. Changed the face of Star Wars forever. So, I am not sure if money is the all deciding factor. Okay, now back to the subject at hand.
What was wrong with the RT 1.0 notice? Is getting an email every time someone post in a thread your subscribed to an improvement?
Gmail & Apps??? Uhhgg - don't even want to bother...be easier marking all RT as spam. Just kidding.
Anyways I tried. You know what is even sadder - is I will get a notice in my email notifying me that I posted this right after I hit submit.
Thanks,

lol - shhhhhhh, don't tell anybody about the rub.
I've been a little lost in WordPress themes lately, something I wish Mr. Miller would get involved with because I have no doubt RocketTheme would produce some of the best WP Themes available. After-all with 1.x Joomla out of the way, more time is available, right Andy?
Anyway, I'll be awaiting the new eye candy from RT. Terp wrote:

What's the point in using a gpl component (CB) if then you have to use commercial addons/plugins to enhance it? For not mention that you should at least buy CB documentation subscription which costs $32. Total is $82.
I see what's your point about GPL components but even some developers of free components eventually ask for donations/chip in. I know it's a donation but if I donated $10 for a free plugin, it's just like if I had paid it $10.

I think people miss the point completely of why GPL (Open Source).
Open Source allows for growth of code, but more importantly is a hook to bring more people on board, which in turn allows for growth of the code.
This allows coding to be nonrestrictive (hopefully) - can you imagine trying to do what you are doing online with websites if everyone was a little Microsoft Mini.
1) The developers would have to pay a license fee for every snippet that they put into their work. Which would discourage some developers from ever becoming developers or make them join MS because - why do it yourself when you can work for MS and let them worry about the headaches.
2) Every software user would in turn would have to pay for every piece of software developed, which would really change the growth of source code, limiting designers and more importantly - computers and the web.
Now, the fun part. Some developers are better at developing than they are at making money and some are better at making money than developing. Of course their are other combination too.
But in the end - the bills have got to be paid without the sacrifice of source codes growth and freedom (nobody wants a BIG BROTHER to maintain source code), but starving developers doesn't help either.
So, what's my point - current system isn't perfect, but hey - that's life. Plus, don't worry - supply vs. demand vs developer vs skill. I mean how many times did I want a add-on only to find it was $100 from one developer. Then a month or two later...some other developer created a free version or a lower cost version that is even better than the $100 one.
I would keep the current system - because it has checks and balances, which keep things inline vs. dealing with Big Brother - who wouldn't care which side of the line it went.
Just my two cents.
Oh and Hmm...I wonder what Mr. Miller has been up to? Keeping in check with the thread.

It's Friday afternoon in China. Last night was the official beginning of the 'Year of the Ox'. Fireworks all over the place.
Everything is shut down, because 90% of the 1 billion people in China are having their holiday. Me? I've got another ten days of relaxing, before back to the office... :cheesy:
Happy Chinese New Year from Nanjing:
