a good portion of RT templates already fit the bill and can easily be adjusted to be a photography site.

The same could be said for a community template though.

I must admit that Populous has small narrow sidebars which are very convenient and yes V4 gives you lots of option, but again - Populous even has cool styling for CB....sort of like how this latest template has cool styling for Virtuemart.

So, since it was component specific styled - it really does make a difference. A multi-styled specific template for various community extensions would rock. Since, there really isn't any one component built specifically for photography - you have nothing to be component specific with. Hmmm, did that come out right??!!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :cheesy:

P.S. I am working on opening a studio by the end of the year here in Taos, New Mexico...so, as for samples. Coming Soon To A RocketTheme Template Near You! :P

    • I think part of the issue is "Code Writers" vs. "Code Users". By that I mean that, myself, as a user sometimes only sees something at face-value...if I start seeing to many fancy symbols, I panic and quit. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut, when I start looking over the notes from the guys who designed this stuff, I start seeing a huge number of options listed out of what all this can do. RokBox is a great example...after reading the notes on it, I realized I could make custom styles for each template, have galleries using the wildcard function so I just upload photos to a directory and I'm done, set up custom thumbnail styling , load modules with it, use it for a video player , use it for a login module , etc.

The big question now is...how the heck to I make it happen.

When I started (and I'm still and infant in Joomla education here), if I dropped my beer on the keyboard and a nice custom photo gallery didn't pop up on my site...I got frustrated.

Now, since I've been playing with more things and learning a great deal from the forums (thanks to all of you who post help tips! :cheesy: ), I can do a great deal more with what's offered as a core Joomla and core RT template set up. I've actually stripped other components and add-ons off my sites because I learned that nearly everything was already built in.

Maybe the only thing I'm allowed to tell you about this upcoming template...the rest you'll have to wait or let the Big Boss tell you...is to do your homework by reading all the tutorials and demo content help tips! If you do this, you will be totally amazed at what you can have on your site with just the RocketLauncher install.

Read up on Tips and Tutorials

Check up on Security Information ...and yes, then go make your site more secure!

And click through the Demo's and read up on all their tutorials. Most of the info in there on Demo content applies to any Joomla template, not just the specific one you're looking at. The Team here spends a great deal of time explaining just how to use everything they design.

Lastly...you're going to be very happy with this months template! :cheesy:  :cheesy:

OK bones time :) First "fast" related to another project, NOT related to this month's template. This month's template contains lots of "new" little extensions I think your going to like. One of them relates to making things fast, so that could count :)

"fast" was the only thing I dared mention, as it was mentioned previously by 'the boss', but since he's mentioned 'lots of "new" little extensions', to that I can add 'Christmas in May!'

Hope you've all been good little girls and boys!

Well, between the three hints or "bones that you threw us" - I can already imagine the template...something I must say - I hoped for. Basically - your adding tools that create a bridge between the user and coder and giving us Rocketeers the power to go further. :cheesy:

    • I'm tempted to just sit here till the end of the month and just do nothing but refresh RT till I see the new template.

Have template sit-in. :P Till the new template is released.

Do you think it will work to get it released early?
