So what does IRC do apart from chat? In the case of Rocket IRC and other ? Exchanging files, i believe, and?
What can be done with IRC? Now, when we have many Mega fast internet? When using Skype and some addons we can even make video conference, write on the "table" so that everyone in a conference can see, etc. Voice talk, texting, video chats with many people, sharing desktop, files etc.
(not on MAC).

for distributed multi-person chat over many timezones, text-chat is a better solution than video chat, plus you can multitask with text chat. try that with a phone call, or even worse, video chat.
for impromptu meetings where voice and sharing are required, we use gotomeeting.com, but 99% of all our communication is text.

But I think that it would be great if Club Members could make something more than talk. I mean make together. Maybe some common project. Many possible interesting things to do. Just making some common website on Joomla and other CMS. Purposes: learning, creating. Learning to cooperate within a large project. Maybe some Developers Club but for those willing to learn how and what to develop. I know some quite big, I suppose projects based on Joomla, some Greek TV channels etc. Only doing some big project in its particular comlplexity can teach many things.
I mean that I cannot see anywhere a website that could boost to its extreme the possibilities that are given by many thousand extensions and I wonder how it would be to run a website on Joomla where some 200 people write articles, where there is plenty of content, full complexity of code and maximum beauty of graphics.

When you use Skype chat, you need to be added to the chat and this relies on the person who started the chat to invite you. If more than one person starts a chat and they each add different people, then you can run into a situation in which you have 2 chats with 10 people, 5 on each and they can’t participate in the other chat. You might have one or two people who have joined both, but more often than not, it turns out to be ‘What did he say?’, or ‘What are you talking about?’ When you use IRC, you have one channel that ever one is on with no need for an invite, it’s like everyone tuning into the same radio station, the info goes out to everyone, no need to be invited, and you just get the info as it comes out. (A bit like old CB radios, everyone is on one channel and can share and participate freely.) - Thanks,

Nobody would enter, I think, but just I thought if it would not be possible in the future to do something on Rocket, like the Club for people who want to learn or sth. I mean that I can see something like that in many projects related with Joomla, Linux. I just try to guess what the future can be.
And I can see new Clubs: phpbb, wordpess, drupal. Maybe something like that in the future. For developers?
