    • Hopefully it will be not that a design and graphic heavy template as the past months.
      It would be great to see something "basic" or something like solarsentinel but for 2010 and with gantry for sure ;-) But we will see whats next.

    • IMHO, the beauty of the Gantry system is you can make it "look" like any template RT has produced to date with very little effort. (assuming you know how, of course).

      I can't wait to get my eyes and hands on what they come up with next. Hopefully I'll get my wish within the next 24 hours. Do you think the template fairy is listening?

      yep, something between both of them ;-)

      @empowermom
      yes you are right. I tried to use kinetic for a site which should be something like a crossover of a mag, portal, news, travel guide and events site. But using many modules on the frontpage makes it just hughe as the module styles are just a bit too.... "big". When i look on some other websites which are targeted at the same kind of as mine, they just get more content on the site cause the design is not that blown up. I hope i was able to describe what i mean ;-)

      I always find it easier take out what I don't need than creating new styles & design to a template. I'm currently stripping out Kinetic, because it was a little too much for me.

      In the image below I changed the padding, took out the inner background which took so much space. made simple ribbons.

    • Thats great. Im trying to find my way around this issue also. But i have seen that most things just have become "bigger" also the menu and some other things are just a bit too big.
      take a look at www.newsday.com/ they have a great menu and many links. Or try the germany site of bild: www.bild.de/
      There you can see that less is sometimes more. With heavy graphic intensive blown up templates, its hard to create something simillar to these.
      But it could be only my fault as im maybe not able to find the right template for me, even if gantry gives you the chance to do everything.

    • Whatever they produce, it will be good.

      I also have noticed the trend to 'large' graphics and when I check some sites in the average browser, which is still 1024x768, you only see half the page. Yet on a bigger and better screen it looks OK.

      I think it is important to ensure we don't lose sight of the end user limitations.

      Regards

      David
