      Hi Tony,

I agree about the other clubs statement. I am currently with Gavick (customer was billed membership as they wanted a specific template :cheesy: ) as well and they are a long way behind RT.

I used to check YOOtheme regularly but they have nothing that hits me as different. Some recent freelance work for one of my regular developer clients has brought me into contact with Joomlart templates. The one I had to convert was poorly thought out as some divs were constant even when no modules published to position.

I still think RT are best but I would like to see the focus vary a bit. You can only build so many community sites but the small business sector want clean, crisp, inviting sites. I still like Infuse and Juxta as variety themes but Infuse has no text resizing and in the UK we have the Disability Discrimination Act so a lot of my clients are now asking for font resizing as a standard.

Let's hope the new one is considerably different to the recent releases.

      Regards

      David

You bring up a point there. It's really what I feel too. I am enviously looking over the fence to the more corporate driven, clean - and most importantly for me - compact themes of Gavick. RT themes tend to become quite huge and what strikes me most is that with all this "fluff" they look awesome, but if you strip down the site for a small business and use just a few modules it often looses its much of its "awesomeness".

I too would love to see some new design twists and a more old school RT look. After all those very magazine driven pages that impress, but often need you to scroll down much, I'd love to see some simple and compact ones. Back to the time when there weren't huge headlines, huge text heights and big space-wasting paddings in RT templates. I'm no developer, so I really love the support in the forums and I get around to simple tweaks here and there, but I am limited in customizing the templates and often have to rely on getting a great package out of the box. That's why the post above really struck a bell.

My two cents and the hope for some more old school material. Quantive was a step in the right direction.

Keep up the good work, but keep it fresh, please.

      Andy,
RT work is simply the best among other template clubs.
Thank you for your great effort.

RT is always 12 hours late on this side of the world, maybe it should be released at noon on the last day of the month. :D

    • JEM I think that is a great idea, I too am that impatient! Something tells me there is a fair amount of cramming that goes on until minutes before the release... now if we could remove the RT crews need to sleep they could make 2 templates a month...
    • Cheers,

    • Awww Mr Toast,

You just shattered my illusions - I thought the RT team lived on coffee, code and customers, with things like sleep and food being delegated for us mere mortals. 8)

Just noticed that my keyboard is getting a shiny F5 key again :cheesy:
