I'm not sure that the Ecwid-oriented template is something that I'll be able to use, but if you're talking about professional/business designs, then the June 2011 template Modulus is still my all-time favorite. I'd love to see a Modulus II template that continues this tradition.

Also, on a technical note, I would love to see a bullet list of the technical features that are introduced with each template. If you could only add full JQuery datatables (datatables.net) support including editable cells , that would make a HUGE impact on our ability to deliver better websites to customers.

I don't think Djamil is a big fan of JQuery :cheesy:

And Joomla is using Mootools so.. :)

I am with him on the bullet list of features. It would be nice to know every possible module suffix for example. I have found on some templates there unpublished suffixes (e.g. "nobox"). Since I am not much of a coder and don't know where to look or how to create my own...this is something that would be very nice for me :-)

    • We've been getting hounded for more professional and business oriented designs as many people think we have too many artsy designs in our portfolio. So we've answered that with Halcyon which is a supremely usable design that is super clean while not being utterly simple. ....Enjoy!

From my perspective, YOU KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!!!

      Way to goooooo!!!!!

      Thank you!

The real point I'm making is that the capability of being able to have editable datatables accessing an external database (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, etc.) would be a huge step up. If MooTools can deliver the slick and highly usable datatables that I see JQuery and datatables.net doing, that's fine with me. Use what software you want, just give us high-quality, editable datatables!

    • I love Halcyon, I love the module icons too!

I too would love to have a tool or extension that would help with making tables look better also. I have looked at RokFeatureTable and haven't tried using it yet. It looks like you can do a lot with columns. I need to try it out to see what can be done with rows rather than columns. Maybe it already has a lot of features for rows. I see it has Highlight Column Control, is there a Highlight Row Control? I will try it out. A way to sort data in a table by column would be nice!

Can't wait to try out Halycon, thanks for an awesome template!

    • The RokFeatureTable is not a database view/update extension. It is a just a presentation of content with some visual effects. It's useful for some cases, but not as a database interaction GUI.

The best implementation for database viewing/editing/searching I've seen so far is at datatables.net. Take a look at the huge number of examples they showcase .

It would be absolutely stellar if RocketTheme could write an extension that provides a:

component - for managing database connections (to MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other popular databases), specifying access and edit controls for tables and columns, configuring whether searching is enabled, how paging is to be done, etc.

module - for enabling a particular database view to be inserted in a given position.

plugin - for enabling a particular database view to be inserted anywhere in the content stream (e.g., in articles).

    • Cheers guys, looks very sweet to me, clean and crisp, smaller headings, a little less padding, discreet and professional, looks exactly like having the design features that a lot of folks have been asking for - including me, and whats been lacking a little in the stable lately, and RT delivered 8) :cheesy:
