    • Oh! - I thought this was "Hmm...I wonder what weather.com, Fox News and Windows 8 has been up to?" :cheesy:

      Seriously, is there a more popular thread on the RT forums? I am guessing not. And taking an analytic look at the posts in this thread (including my own)... when RT subscribers are asked "Hmm...I wonder what the RocketTheme team has been up to?" each individual's honest answer is "I hope its something that fits MY needs"

      Earlier in the discussion someone mentioned the value that RT gets from the feedback posted here. This is very true. I hope the RTeam realized this. Of course all the simple "Its great" and "Love it" or "Hate it" comments don't have much value, but when your paying subscribers take the time to write well thought out and referenced critiques and compliments, I think that should be applauded and encouraged.

      I have had the sense over the years that the RTeam gets defensive about its work. They try (and are probably instructed) not to show it, but its there. And who can blame them? They make a great product, have top notch support, and should be proud. But look, there is nothing wrong with criticism (or compliments), and nothing wrong with having this excellent thread be the place to exchange those thoughts.

      The great sportscaster, Bob Costas once said that he knew he had done a perfect job calling a game when he had an equal amount of complaints from both team's fans. When both sides claim equally that you are favoring the other side you have done a perfect job of hitting the middle. RT hits the middle, and its usually a homerun. So... RT can keep building great templates, the subscribers can keep being honest and please let this forum be the place to discuss "what the RocketTheme team has been up to".

    • Wait... This is FACT. The 70's were better than the 80's... lol - JK

      But I do feel it is sort of on topic because even though we are having this argument about style and trend of websites I think people are simply stating what they feel they would want and or need from RT to build quality websites. Which RT already provides but suggestions or style requests I feel are fair game - are they not?

      Sure. So much so that Andy created an entire forum just for such requests. ;)

      But some of us more positive people who only speak when we have nice things to say do tire of the predictable "[T]his template sucks" rhetoric month after month. Just saying.

      Yea, I'll unsubscribe until the day before the 1st, then subscribe for 1 day, then hopefully unsubscribe again before all the pissing and moaning starts back up. :)

    • You know, I actually like all the RT templates & could make any of them work for a project. I just like some of them more than others & some may inspire me more for a particular project. I can't say that I don't like any of them. I won't ever use all of them but I love having all the choices to browse through before I start a new project. It is kind of like a smorgasbord where you can pick & choose your favorites! :D

    • As an aside and adhoc statement to Henning's posts above, there has been a degree of standardisation for the past year when its comes to demo content and module suffixes. If you look to demo-styles.css, you'll see a particular standard block that can literally be copied and pasted into any template that you want:
      /* Standard Inline Structural Adjustments */
      body .floatleft {float: left;margin-right: 15px;margin-left: 0;}
      body .floatright {float: right;margin-left: 15px;margin-right: 0;}
      body .normalfont, body .normalfont li {font-size: 100% !important;}
      body .nobold, body .nobold li {font-weight: normal !important;}
      body .nomarginall, body .nomarginall .rt-block, body ul.nomarginall, body li.nomarginall {margin-left: 0 !important;margin-right: 0 !important;margin-top: 0 !important;margin-bottom: 0 !important;}
      body .nopaddingall, body .nopaddingall .rt-block, body ul.nopaddingall, body li.nopaddingall {padding-left: 0 !important;padding-right: 0 !important;padding-top: 0 !important;padding-bottom: 0 !important;}
      body .nomargintop, body .nomargintop .rt-block, body ul.nomargintop, body li.nomargintop {margin-top: 0 !important;}
      body .nomarginbottom, body .nomarginbottom .rt-block, body ul.nomarginbottom, body li.nomarginbottom {margin-bottom: 0 !important;}
      body .nomarginleft, body .nomarginleft .rt-block, body ul.nomarginleft, body li.nomarginleft {margin-left: 0;}
      body .nomarginright, body .nomarginright .rt-block, body ul.nomarginright, body li.nomarginright {margin-right: 0;}
      body .nopaddingtop, body .nopaddingtop .rt-block, body ul.nopaddingtop, body li.nopaddingtop {padding-top: 0 !important;}
      body .nopaddingbottom, body .nopaddingbottom .rt-block, body ul.nopaddingbottom, body li.nopaddingbottom {padding-bottom: 0 !important;}
      body .nopaddingleft, body .nopaddingleft .rt-block, body ul.nopaddingleft, body li.nopaddingleft {padding-left: 0;}
      body .nopaddingright, body .nopaddingright .rt-block, body ul.nopaddingright, body li.nopaddingright {padding-right: 0;}
      .floatnone {float: none !important;}
      .clearnone {clear: none !important;}
      .floatleftlast {float: left;margin-right: 0;}
      .floatrightlast {float: right;margin-left: 0;}
      .noimage {display: none;visibility: hidden;}
      body .smallmarginbottom {margin-bottom: 5px !important;}
      body .smallmargintop {margin-top: 5px !important;}
      body .medmarginbottom {margin-bottom: 10px !important;}
      body .medmargintop {margin-top: 10px !important;}
      body .largemarginbottom {margin-bottom: 15px !important;}
      body .largemargintop {margin-top: 15px !important;}
      body .smallmarginleft {margin-left: 5px !important;}
      body .smallmarginright {margin-right: 5px !important;}
      body .medmarginleft {margin-left: 10px !important;}
      body .medmarginright {margin-right: 10px !important;}
      body .largemarginleft {margin-left: 15px !important;}
      body .largemarginright {margin-right: 15px !important;}
      body .smallpaddingbottom {padding-bottom: 5px !important;}
      body .smallpaddingtop {padding-top: 5px !important;}
      body .medpaddingbottom {padding-bottom: 10px !important;}
      body .medpaddingtop {padding-top: 10px !important;}
      body .largepaddingbottom {padding-bottom: 15px !important;}
      body .largepaddingtop {padding-top: 15px !important;}
      body .smallpaddingleft {padding-left: 5px !important;}
      body .smallpaddingright {padding-right: 5px !important;}
      body .medpaddingleft {padding-left: 10px !important;}
      body .medpaddingright {padding-right: 10px !important;}
      body .largepaddingleft {padding-left: 15px !important;}
      body .largepaddingright {padding-right: 15px !important;}
      body .rt-relative {position: relative;}
      body .rt-center {text-align: center;}

      This provides a very comprehensive way of controlling modules and content elements in respects to their margins, paddings and other position information on a standard, mass scale.

      in addition to the normal suffixes you can find 26 structural suffixes, these affect the layout and metrics of the module that remove every padding/margin you can think of ...

      - rt-center: centres the content of the module.
      - shadow2-10 adds varying shadows around the module.
      - rounded, square, basic: changes the border style of the module.
      - standardcase, uppercase, lowercase: change the case of the module title.
      - nomargintop, nomarginright, nomarginbottom, nomarginleft, nomarginall: removes the various margins around the module.
      - nopaddingtop, nopaddingright, nopaddingbottom, nopaddingleft, nopaddingall: removes the various paddings around the module
