Also I hope they do that effect on the next update that would save me a lot of $$ and it would be nice if you can add an image or web player so that always be on top no matter where you are in a website

is this the effect you mean?

Yes those kind of examples are what I meant... Here it is in the new version of Bootstrap....

      getbootstrap.com/examples/navbar-fixed-top/

It would be real nice if that could work on a RT template :cheesy:

that does work on an rt template. The fixed position for that example you showed me is very simple and easy to do. In fact that has nothing to do with jquery. For RT to implement this would have to in a slick way and I just don't think they will do that because of the obvious functionality it cuts off by not having the regular menu.

That is why my solution is so much better. If you notice I have the exact same bar the bootstrap is displaying. What makes my solution unique is that I can call upon a div... For example a div anywhere in a module, article or even K2 item.

The page you see @ isaerudition.com/study-pages is using K2 items to display the content. It is completely Div only with a css style attached to it. This is style sheet is what gives the parameters to the nav bar.

I applied a special trick to then take that navbar which is a position:relative <<< makes it fit in the div >>> and turns it into a position:fixed; so that when the page is scrolled upwards beyond that point it stays exactly at the cooresponding div position.

Awesome right? you can have your cake and eat it too. put navbars where you want them and have a page scroll down only for sections of your site you need the functionality.

By all means you can have it the way you see it but when planning out a site I feel my solution is so much more practical.

oh and yes I am using an RT template.

In USA it is still middle of the night or early in the morning so you should really wait little bit longer 8)

... Gantry makes it easier than ever to customize templates and layouts without writing a single line of code. Perhaps a little suggestion ... when you work on a template try to get a greyscale only look and that put carefully some colors back into the design. This often opens the door to elegant and great designs based on RT-Templates. ...

This is a very fine idea Henning. I will take it into account with my next "business" site. thanks.

    • I just finish my first responsive site based on Metropolis and I want to thanks the RocketTheme.

Again with the fantastic Rocket support and the responsive ability of Gantry and the use of Less, I was able, me, with only few neurones left in my brain, put it together.

One of lesson of the exercise is that Today web sites will have to go higher in prices for the potential buyers/owners. The work involve to test and fix a multi-platforms, multi-browsers, multi-devices web site is no small task. My first impression is at least a 1/3 to 1/2 increase in cost/time, no less.
