    • 1. I have a problem to install your Perihelion template at “localhost” on my computer. I attach a screenshot of the error encountered after stage 4 of the Rocket Launcher installation attempt. Please give me an exact answer and give interpolations in my text where I make statements that are correct, incorrect, or that you need to elaborate on in your wisdom.
      I Unzipped the file. [In my mind there are basically 2 options; either install the “Rocket Launcher”, which is an exact copy of the Demo on the Rockettheme.com website, or just the bare bones Perihelion template. The “Rocket Launcher” zip files always has the following basic file name structure: “Joomla_RT_Perihelion_j15”. The parts marked in red ink denote variable portions of the name “formula”, and will therefore be changed and varied from template to template with whatever template maybe be contained in it, for eg template names of Media Mogul, Populus, Perihelion, Hivemind etc. The purple “RT” part in a file will always tell you that you now deal with a “Rocket launcher” package file, and NOT just the basic template, which basic template is without all the bells and whistles which the Rocket Launcher package has already included.
      The normal template file for Dimensions is called “rt_Perihelion_j15”. Here again the red ink denote what will change from template to template in the file name structure “formula”].
      I Copied the file which I so unzipped to the folder of my site’s “main” folder {NOT the “templates” folder, but, in my case the “shariki_dlya_prazdnika” folder}. the site is kept in the Wamp folder at “c:\wamp\www\shariki_dlya_prazdnika\”. Here again, in my mind, if you want to create new sites, you will just create folders fore them in place of/in addition of the “restaurant” folder.
      Now that the extracted zip file was in my site’s main folder {NOT the “templates” folder, but, in my case, the “shariki_dlya_prazdnika” folder}, I tried to go to activate and install this file/template/Rocket Launcher by going to the browser, typing in the file name that will take you to the file to be installed, and then follow the prompts. The file name, according to me, to be put in the browser is “http://localhost/shariki_dlya_prazdnika/joomla_RT_Perihelion_j15/installation/index.php”.
      When I got to step 4 (Database Configuration), I filled in for:
      Database type: mysql;
      Host Name: localhost;
      Username: root;
      Password: root;
      Database name: joomla
      7. Regards

      There is no point in using the RT Install if your not going to use the demo. If your going bare bone - use Fantastico (Cpanel - if you have it) or do a fresh install of the latest Joomla from Joomla (Note: when you use the Joomla zip and extract it on your server - it goes to the root not to the folder ;) at least it does on my server)

      Just move everything out of the RT folder into your root - so it will read “http://localhost/shariki_dlya_prazdnika/installation/index.php”. NOT “http://localhost/shariki_dlya_prazdnika/joomla_RT_Perihelion_j15/installation/index.php”. Then delete the RT folder and start your install. It does it with me too, but I just move all the files into my root.

      I can't open the file?!? ??? Maybe, post the error and cross out your domain info?

      When did RT start doing E-Mail Support? Besides account problems...example - can't login after paying for membership (you would definitely need email support for that one :P ). RT Support is Right here and your using it right now! ;D The Forum!

      Believe me - I know what it was like when I first started working with Joomla - painful, but I got better. Also, I was a real noob when I first joined RT and said stuff I wish I could take back ::) :P , because RT TEAM ROCKS! & gives incredible support - you just got to know how to ask for it - and you know how to do that? Just ask and post it in the forum. ;D

      Best of Luck,

    • Hi.
      Thanx to Newbie and wingman for trying to help me.

      To Wingman:
      Ok, I am willing to give ur suggestion a try, but I just want to make sure I fully understand what u said. To paraphrase, you said I must move all of the contents in the current "Joomla_RT_Perihelion_j15" folder STRAIGHT into the "shariki_dlya_prazdnika" folder, yes? By the way, I am Belorussian, and the site name means "Balloons for a party". :)
      But, if I will do that it will have the Nett result that many of the files with similar NAMES WILL be overwritten (for example the "administrator" or "template" folders); is this wise? Won't I create security risks in such a way or create (even hidden) further future problems?

      I wanted to re-attach the screenshot for ur convenience, but don't see and upload button (how to upload stuff in post replies? Or must I amend the original first post). It is a NEW Microsoft Word 2007 file (screenshot pasted into the file).

      Regards

      Well, if you just squeeze in a "w" (you'll know where to put it) into your screen name - it would better fit you! :P ::) :P

    • Okay - first off -

      - DO YOU HAVE A SITE UP AND RUNNING USING JOOMLA for that domain?
      - If yes, then is that the one you want to use and you just want to just install a RT template or do you want to add another Joomla sub site to your domain? If you just want the template download the template only and install in your current Joomla install, if want a subsite then cool use RT blah blah unpack it and then just rename the folder to what you want it to be (just don't overwrite something else)

      ??? I'm confused as to what you are doing...so, start from there. ;D

    • To all:
      For those who cant open the attached screenshot, the verbatim error was given as: "Unable to connect to the database: could not connect to MySQL".

      To Terp:
      Really funny remark and joke … Made me smile much. Now I await ur REAL solution to my problem plse! 

      To Wingman:
      Thanx fopr tying to understand me.
      I did not yet copy or move anything.
      The site is up at this stage, but not built by Joomla. Just a temp stanbd in site. Look at www.sharikidlyaprazdnika.com .

      What I try to do now is build the site locally on Joomla.
      I installed Joomla locally ok, but the problem arose as described in my first post, and as expanded upon in THIS current post.

      I want to add good templates into my arsenal locally, and experiment.
      I want to see how the RocketLauncher looks too, and works on the main site.
      However, the idea of a subsite is of interest to me too for another project. U can expand on the subsite scenario too if u can (is this then going to be reflected HOW exactly in the URL if we use "forum" as example, like for ewxample " www.forum.sharikidlyaprazdnika.com ", or " www.sharikidlyaprazdnika.com/forum ")
