1 - Okie dokie - U want a sand box and a development area...
2 - You want submdomains for the live sections.
K - got it...now lets start with - why your not connecting to the data base....simple, not joomla or rockettheme. It is any/or choices below --
a - LocalHost <--- joomla suggest that, but that my not be your actual one. You need to check with your hosting as to true name.
b - wrong user name - hmmm :
boy, have I beaten my head a few times only to realize I was using the wrong username
c - password - ouch - see b
d - data base - double ouch - see b & c
As for the sub folder name??? Name it anything you want before you do run final install - this will be your sandbox to play or development site to develop your site (You can always use JoomlaPack to move it to A) sub domain or
Top root Folder
As for sub domains - go into your cpanel - make a subdomain (you pick the name - make sure it is not a folder in your top root folder) and install your website in there - then you will have a subdomain.domain.com site ;D - "You can learn a lot from a dummy. To Wingman.
I love the energy with which you try to help me, but it seems we miss each other in the understanding department.
Lets focus on my current problem, being the localhost install, where I tried to install the template, and where it gave me the abovestated MySQL error.
I don't see any advice in ur last reply that can help me (u also didn't expand on what u meant in ur post recommending me to copy the files over the root folder etc ...); I gave u, in my FIRST ;post, the exact data that I filled in for the template install. How can it be wrong when its the recommended default terms?
