Not Good Enough

    Not Good Enough

    • I recently posted a couple of new threads, one was asking how to migrate from localhost to a live host, the second was asking advice about security measures for Joomla.

      Both topics received the same basic reply about migration, obviously one of the threads WASN'T READ before replying. Thats cool, we all make mistakes, and I appreciated the migration advice.

      Then my thread about migration was LOCKED, maybe believing that it was a double post (hence the double post reply).

      I replied in the security thread asking why the migration thread was locked, yet still no one has responded or unlocked it. Not good enough.

      I did indeed run into problems with the migration, but with NO THANKS to RT for locking my thread, it has now been sorted out with support from elsewhere that I didn't pay for, unlike here, and I finally have a live site.



      This is very poor form and poor support hosting.

      This isn't a high school chat room, and the standards here should reflect and be maintained to the operations of a professional business.

      As a customer I expect the support here to be provided professionally, everyone has paid good money to a business be provided with goods and services for templates and a support forum to help each other.

      Although I now have a sour taste in my mouth with regard to this forum, I will be needing to utilise it again to ask for the support I was promised before I signed up. I signed up for 1 YEAR in order to utilise 1 template PLUS the services promised in that time period, and I will utilise the services I purchased.

      I expect far better in the future, and I expect my LEGITIMATE threads not to be locked for NO REASON.

    • This site is not intended for specifical Joomla! technical assistance, but for RT templates. You should have tried at www.joomla.org .
      For any other help you could receive here, you should just be grateful.

      I was the one who locked your thread, just a case of a false reading of your thread in which I thought it was a double post. Merely a simple mistake. I apologise for the distress that the procedure brought upon you.

      As an appendix to Max's post above, your question is better asked at forum.joomla.org as its a Joomla specific issue. Our forums are an entirely free service (extrinsic), but nevertheless, we do strive to keep the support structure in order to ensure all relevant questions are answered, and in a respectable manner. Similarly, the support in the forum is prioritised, and possible monopolised, for RocketTheme Template / Release specific items, such as template customisation questions, demo setup and module configuration. Joomla questions may be answered but that is discretional as forum.joomla.org is the optimum place for Joomla specific enquiries.

      Again, apologies for any distress caused and hope you will have positive thoughts throughout the remainder of your membership.

      I do indeed research and ask questions at Joomla forums, forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=429&t=336685 (ontheouter here)
      as well as researching google etc, as I did for 6 hours with that particular question prior to posting here. I always LOOK before I ask, and did get help elsewhere. As you can see from the numerous modifications on my site, I haven't asked a single question in relation to the modifications on my site, how to write code or whatnot, and I knew nothing when I started.

      I do not expect Joomla questions to be answered by RT staff, I have seen this forum operate as a community for discussion and help amongst it's members. If a staff member does help with a Joomla question, its a bonus, it is not expected.

      My Host's Forum isn't there for the Host to help with these sort of questions either, but the members sure jumped in and helped quickly!

      But yes I was annoyed the thread was locked considering it was an innocent question, even at the least I would have liked to have shared with others how I resolved my issue, perhaps that it may help someone else experiencing the same problem.



      Now that my site has been uploaded, I have indeed asked my first real questions in relation to specific site issues, located in the Hyperion Category, and I would appreciate any assistance from anyone.
