    • Mommy says to little boy, you are entitled to two cookies a day.
      ::Little Boy - Mommy may I have a cookie?
      ::Mommy- yes you may.
      ::Little Boy - Mommy may I have another cookie?
      ::Mommy- yes you may.
      ::Little Boy- Mommy may I have another cookie?
      ::Mommy- I'm sorry, you are not entitled to any more cookies. Ask again tomorrow.

    • But once you've eaten all your cookies, you're not entitled to any more....unless you buy some more of course!

    • Hi,

      Can I ask a stupid question? Thanks.

      Let's say I'm using a RT Template for a family intranet application I'm building to store some documents. I like messing around with different templates, etc. to see how they look and feel.

      I have not logged in in a few months and am now seeing this "Entitlement" thing for the first time. My questions are:

      1) Every time I download a template is my entitlement count decremented?
      2) Every time I install a template is my entitlement count decremented?
      3) Are entitlements working on the honor system or is there some sort of web service going on between my website and the rocket theme "entitlement checking server"?

      Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

    • 1) No.
      2) No.
      3) There is no server check.

      If you have 3 entitlements you can use 3 templates at the same time, on live sites. You can change templates anytime you want but you're only allowed to use them on 3 sites.

    • Hi

      I think I've understood the entitlement thing, and if not I guess someone would kick me ass sometime in the future.

      However, I have a bunch of questions:

      1) I now have 6 entitlements, and three running homepages. One of the homepages is a Norwegian non-profit bluesclub, which of course is a nationally registrated organization. So, this mean I have only used 2 entitlements, right? I am a member of the bluesclub.

      2) Will a personal homepage, like "here's me and my family and dog", count as 1 entitlement? Or is it 0 (zero) as it is not profitting (earning any money or fame)? I guess the answer is 1, right?

      3) I see some of the other template clubs have rules that the domains need to be owned by the club member. I understand this is not - and hopefully will not - a rule in RT? Because that would be a problem for i.e. non-profit organization, as their domains always will belong to the club and not to a single person. I just want it said in clear language, as I think this is one of the many great things with RT club membership.

      4) For my bank account there is a gap between standard membership and developer membership. Therefore, I wonder if I should ever be so lucky to need to have more than 6 Joomla installs (domains, whatever) with RT templates on, will it be possible to buy an extra entitlement? Or do I just need to sit and wait until my membership expires and I get to pay the bill for one more year - and three new entitlements?

      5) We're talking 1 entitlement = 1 RT template on 1 Joomla Install, right? What about those who have that multiple thing installed, and therefore can run more than one template on one Joomla install? Are they still only using 1 entitlement?

      6) Subdomains are now also counted as 1 entitlement? I have our bluesclub on a subdomain to one of my domains. The subdomain has for now RT Extremities 2 as template. If or when I choose to use the main domain, then that will be using a new entitlement? So subdomain.maindomain.tld + maindomain.tld = 2 entitlements? Because it's two Joomla installs?

      7) And my last question: I have been asked if I would make a homepage for a friend who saw my homepage with the Dimension template on, and he want to pay me. I explained to him that I do not design, and I showed him your demo template page. He will only have 1 homepage, and he wants me to do this as he barely knows how to use email. But am I allowed to??? Or must he buy a 1 year standard membership, which I then will get to use from him? I do am a bit confused about that... He will pay me by hour for how long it takes to make his page running (installing Joomla and template etc) and for keeping it running (adding new items etc).

      I hope the RT staff reads this, as I want to thank you for being a club for the members and not vise versa. Yes, I do understand you earn money on this, which you absolutely should. But compared to other clubs, you win big time. I've read some of the other clubs' rules, and I must admit I wonder if they really want any members at all...

    • I don't understand your reply. What did I do to offend you? You shouting "If you need to ask, buy more!" in my face, with big fat letters, twice. Being a moderator of this forum you should know better than that, it doesn't suit you...

      And you also should know that I am in fact, for the second year on a row, a paying member. I had no need to renew my membership, as I had downloaded nice templates and still (when membership expired) had only used for one domain. But I figured it would be great to keep the forum access. Now, I have - thanks to the lovely and very sexy RT Dimensions template - been asked to help friends with their homepages, including this non-profit bluesclub which IS legally registrated. But even so, I still had templates to use without paying for one more year! So, please, do not tell me off in such a rude way. I've paid RT, and I am sure I will again in September - even though I can't imagine I will need 9 entitlements. And because I do, I want to act in a matter that doesn't break any rules.

      I can give a quick reply to your statement: "If members need to ask, then explain!" We pay for a product, and if we have to ask what we have paid for then the responsibility lies on RT and not our bank accounts...

    • We define entitlement as a template use on a specific Joomla install. You need an entitlement for each Joomla install you run a RocketTheme template on. Officially registered non-profit sites can be exempt from an entitlement requirement.

      OK, so what's the issue?

      One template per install...if you want to change the template every week for that install, that's fine.

      If you're non-profit...that's fine too.

      What's the confusion???
