What's an Entitlement??

  • What's an Entitlement??

    • Hi

Can somebody translate this for me, cos I think I've put too much brandy in the mince pies and me brain is fuddled!?

"You need one entitlement for each web application install you run a RocketTheme template/style/theme on"

Does that mean I have to be "entitled" to use a template?? Or is an "entitlement" going to be a extra "Brucie Bonus" for us to play with? (Us "oldies" in the UK will know what that is!)

Any guidance on this appreciated....or if anybody can advise just how much brandy to put into mince pies, that will be appreciated also!

      Cheers for now

      PS

I like the new website...just a shame the forum doesn't like my work's IE6 browser!

    • Entitlements refer to the template count. Therefore, if you had 3 entitlements, you can setup 3 Joomla installs with our templates.

With RTv2, there is a greater distinction between membership time and entitlements. Therefore, you can keep adding entitlements without the need to purchase more time.

      I hope that explains it.

As for the forum issue, can you explain that in more detail?

    • I'm glad the brandy has kicked in!

So you're saying that out of the 60 odd templates that RT have put out, I can use 3 of them as part of my hard earned subscription fee?

    • You never could setup 60 sites with our templates, unless you had the unlimited developer/pro package.

The old $75 1 year membership, only allowed you to use the templates on 3 installs/sites. If you visit www.rockettheme.com/joomla-club-details you will see the current price list and entitlements, entitlements being the number of installs that can use our templates.

    • No, I mean if I install (say) the Nov template on a website cos it's good, but then the Dec one comes along and blows my socks off (I don't get out much) so I install that one....does this mean I then only have 1 entitlement left for the remaining 10 months?

I hope the festive hangovers makes the January RT template on the same level of a YooTheme!!

      :)

When I took out the membership, I'm sure I was allowed to use any template on any two sites concurrently.

As for using RTv2 on my IE6 browser, please see attached screenshot ... well I hope it's attached!

    • In that case you're only using 1 template (entitlement) on that site. If you want to switch it monthly, that's fine. The count as to how many you have up concurrently on different applications.

    • Entitlement is something you think you are supposed to have but someone else pays for it!

    • You mean like those poor wee souls who cannot afford to join but can download all of the RT templates, since 2005, for free cos some kind muppit decides to share them with non-members?

But the good thing is, these guys will not get their Entitlements for being a member!

      Thanks for clarifying Dave!

ps - Anybody have any ideas why the forum is messed up on IE6 (well on my browser at least!)

I live in the hope that one year soon, 'work' will venture into FF3...or at least IE7!
