Tracking Forum Posts from external site

  • Tracking Forum Posts from external site

    • Hi,

Need a way to track how many forum posts are made on an external server.

For example, I want to see how many forum posts are made a day on a clients site. But I don't have access to their forum administration.

What is the best way to track this information?

    • The BEST way is to secure permission and rights to access their database remotely, run the appropriate queries and Bob's your second-cousin's best friend's sister's babysitter ...

Aside from that you could look at using CURL (PHP core library) to 'look' at the site and check differences ... but this way would be extremely convoluted and highly inefficent.

    • Maybe - but you're going to get fairly vague statistics if what you're looking for is numbers of posts.
