    • While we await some postive advice from one of our resident guru's...

I have just Simple Image Gallery, which uses Slim box. The cool thing is it does the same thing as slim box in content items.
and Sooooo easy to use! the tutorials on their site and after installation are great too. all you need to do is install the mambot, (make sure you activate it from the mambot menu!) then in your wysiwyg editor just add the tags ( {gallery}yourimagefolder{/gallery} ) and bingo done.

      You can get it http://www.joomlaworks.gr/#downloads_section

There are also some other really cool tools and plug ins there too! especially this one:The AllVideos Editor Button Pack Plugin

anyhow just thought I'd share ...best use it in any template in one single step! gotta love it!

Oh no! Have we stumped the pros? I'm now seeing a shift in my whole paradigm. My universe is falling apart! My toilets are backed up into my matter/anti-matter pods! SHE CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE OF THIS, CAP'M!!!

Dude, that sounds like it could be a really bad situation! I have had this sort of problem in the past and have a great tutorial how to fix it if you like.

    • laugh you guys crack me up. seriously, the way that things are right now you need to either use a wysiwyg editor that supports adding attributes like "rel" or turn off the wysiwyg editor. You have to understand that in general these editors are really dumbed-down and hide/strip alot of the more advanced features of html. That's why if you add the rel by turning off your wysiwyg editor, then edit the content later with the editor, the code is gone, the editor has stripped it out. I will very shortly (next couple of days release a mambot that will work will all editors to allow you use lightbox even with these horrible editors (can you tell i don't like them). in the meantime my best advice is just to turn them off. They are really a plague and a terrible way of inputing content.

    • Thanks Andy,

I want to make sure I understand. You are saying I have to add the rel=lightbox parameter manually to EVERY image in my entire site via hard code. There is no global css parameter or something?

    • No not every image, only images you want to use slimbox for. I suggest you only use this if you have a larger version of the image you are trying to hilight. Note slimbox is not a replacement for a gallery script, it's intention is to allow a thumbnail to link to a larger version of the image. You should use it sparringly, where needed.

Ok, I have added the slimbox files and js files and also added the lines of code in the index.php, however, the link goes straight to the picture location, and doesnt open in the lightbox fashion.

Hi, I'm having the same problem with Extremeties 2 using Joomla 1.0.11
I've copied all the files over into my template's directory, added the code to the <head> and turned off the WYSIWYG editor but when I click on my thumbnail all I get is the linked image on a new page just like any other straight forward un-styled HTML image link.

Slimbox looks really great and I'm desperate to use it but I just can't get it to work ???
