    • Emma, Emma !- I am not trying to insult anybody over at RT, and I haven't got a bad attitude- I am just throwing in my 2 cents ( the same what you have done )- plus I never started this thread.
When you get an e.mail stating
Please consider renewing soon to continue your access to the #1 Joomla theming community. As an existing member you can still renew your membership for a discounted price
discounted price then why is this higher than the price I paid before ?
These RocketTheme Joomla Templates are outstanding and when I saw them- I decided to buy one,but they are real tricky to customise them, to the way you want them- so its took me longer than I thought.
I fully appreciate all the help I have been giving by the mods over here- we have had a hell of a trip together & they are probaly saying ( " Oh! please Limco- don't renew ! )
      :)
Come on Limco, you can't even get a pub meal and a beer for $50
If I paid $50 for a pub meal one day- then I went to the same pub the next day- and they said I would get a discount today since I am a good customer..........(lovely Dovely, I said to the wife )
I order the same meal- and when I get the Bill, it says $60- wheres the discount ?- and why $10 more ?
Being a business man myself....this is what I am totally confused with...........doesn't make sense !

    • After reading all of this thread, I have to say that I am, and always have been, very happy with the way that support is provided here and the level and quality of that support. I read the terms and conditions of quite a few template clubs before I joined RT, and I chose this one because of the quality of the templates and the helpful atmosphere in the "public" forums that I could see before I paid my subscription. That was over two years ago, and I have not been disappointed ... ever.

I was aware that I could not pick and choose which bits of the package that I wanted; I had to follow all the rules, not just the ones that I liked. So I pay my annual subscription very happily to continue getting that help and to continue to get access to the templates. I understood when I joined that the support in the forums comes from members of the RT community, not necessarily from the RT developers themselves - my subscription gives me access to the templates and to the RT community. It's just like getting into any club - you pay your money at the door to get in and have access to the services and facilities.

    • All I have to say is even if there was a slight price rise and how ever so slight it was it still provides outstanding value for money. Personally in many ways I think it is dirt cheap, have you had a template designed from scratch lately? I have many, we have often shelled out 5k for a top design for a client, and that is it, no upgrades no help in third party extensions not sitting happy with the design.

So it is a little more expensive, but I cannot see any room to be upset, things go up, costs increase so it is $10 more, so what, ok it might make your eyebrows raise a little when you think to yourself damn I only paid $50 the first time, discounted price HA! Although you still have to think of what that little 3/4 a tank of petrol buys you, awesome designs, cutting edge even, throw it all away and just use the framework, still solidly built, we clean coding and well documented to find your way around..

Then there is the community, and most people in here are pretty helpful and more than happy to lend an ear and a digit, on so many different and often unrelated topics.

Maybe you did not start the topic Limco, but you sure vented your displeasure, one of my VPS's costs more a month than the basic subscription cost here, and I tell you what next year probably will go up a few dollars. Everything goes up.

Can you imagine how much it costs RT to develop one new template, and how many subscriptions they need just to break even on the initial development? Before even getting to their technology costs, I bet the server we are sitting on now is a bit of an investment each month as well.

All I am saying is personally (my opinion) you have no grounds to be upset, I will be upgrading to developer level shortly, 1 because I want unlimited access to resources and 2 to be perfectly honest I think the club deserves the yearly cash - Really when you think about it $240 is nothing for a years membership, my car rego is due $750 for a year Guarantee you I make a lot more out of RT then I do my car....

The prices went up in December of 2008, from $50 for 3 months, and $75 for a year, to $50 for 2 months, $75 for 6 months, and $90 for 1 year. We had the same prices for nearly 3 years, and we've been consistently adding features, templates, extensions etc. The price increase I feel is very fair. When you renew your membership you get about 20% discount on the 'current' price. This is standard practice in any industry the world over. If you bought a car last year for $15,000 dollars, and then you went to the dealer this year and they said they would give you a discount on a new car, but this year the car now costs $17,000 because of inflation, new features, etc, they would discount the 'new car price' not the price you originally paid. Your analogy is on a daily time-scale, which I could understand, however we changed our prices in December of last year, so that's 8+ months ago.

    • Its nice to read all your pionts of view and we have all been adults about this.....
I suppose its just when I recieved the e.mail.........and it said renew your membership for a discounted price I thought Discount meant cheaper than the $50 I already paid !
After reading all your comments, I can fully understand a wee bit better & when I do get the money together- I may renew, because the templates you have are awesome......
Plus you have very cleaver people working as Mods over here and they have giving me so much help with my template..............I have always appreciated this, and I have said this on many occasions.
Sorry for making this thread the way it developed, that certainly wasn't my attentions.....
Anyway- a pat on the back for RT and thanks every one for the help and advice I was giving, while I was a member over here...................

    • During my first year of my membership I was on the way out of the club (not because of RT but because of Joomla generally) but then RT came up with such great templates ... I couldn't resist.
Cool you stay here too ... 8)

    • Hello!
I have the same question, but instead of changing the link of the "read more" text I would like to change the default link of the Thumbnail to a html page.

I asked this question on Dec. 02, 2009 in the rocketLabs section and I am still waiting for an answer....
I found this post here, and as it has been answered my hopes for an answer here are up.

      Thanks...
