i haven't read all the posts, but... are you sure you have download the TEMPLATE ???
You could have download the image set...

The templates are templates, so they change your joomla design, but the structure of content is your work.
They are really easy to use... and RT support is G-R-E-A-T.

Let me know, i'm courious... ;)

    • Apologies if this sounds harsh, but it is your responsibility, and yours alone, to understand how Joomla! (and it's templating system) works. I would suggest you do not join a template club and then expect people on the board to instruct you on some of the core technologies of Joomla!

No, it doesnt sound harsh .. it sounds stupid. Apologies if that sounds harsh. Basic business ... there should be language saying to get the template to look like the demo requires some "assembly." There is no such language. They are selling templates .. "join" and "buy" ... NOT "go over to Joomla.org, spend hours learning it, use their two basic templates first, then come back here if you're ready and buy our templates, because they don't look like the demos out of the box."

Im not here to argue with you or anyone, just making observations and asking for help. So get off the high horse. Im here because I love the template demos and I want to use them. RT does great work.

I built a demopage in Sporticus for someone in half an hour. And it looked pretty close to the demo. Not sure where you get two weeks from. The templates really are very easy to get going.

Great, you want to build mine?! Im not well-versed in Joomla to get it done in a half-hour. And if RT is building it you'd think it's in their best interest to make it easy for anyone to use (because they don't ask people to first go to joomla.org and learn everything before shelling out their cash) then they should offer instructions ... should be easy enough right?!

at the top of the sporticus template forum, in the stickies, are instructions on making it look like the demo to a degree. I used those and had mine looking pretty close to the gator sporticus variant in less than 2 days, so give it a shot.

Im going to give it a shot this weekend, even though Im busy. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • Andy, you may need to add a line to the point of sale for the templates to manage this kind of expectation in the future. Maybe a disclaimer.

I would have thought you would at least learn about a CMS system before you went and brought templates for it. 13500 members and if you look in the forums can't see to many people with your issue. There are instructions throughout this forum and on the Demo sites - don't think you can get better support or instructions anywhere.

I cannot see the logic of blaming RT for your lack of knowledge in Joomla.

If you like, personal message me with your website url and admin login details and I will quickly format your site to look like the demo one.

Dave. Cmon man I never blamed RT for my not knowing Joomla. I came from the Wordpress environment where downloads look like the demos. I even put up a site with a basic Joomla template to mess with. It still appeared to me that a Joomla template could still be downloaded to look like the demo. Like I said, RT has the best templates, I love them that is why I paid to be a year long member. I want this to work. Im here for help. If you are serious I will take you up on your offer.

Well thanks for that lovely comment MrB.

Did you read the Terms and Conditions? I quote
Please refer to the official Joomla! forums at forum.joomla.org for help on using or customizing templates and administration, and search this site in our Tips and Tricks section.

I really don't know what you expect. I think from the replies you have already got, you would now realise that it is up to yourself to put in some time with Joomla and learn how it works first. It's not that compliated and we were all in the same position once.

In my opinion you will not gain anything by having someone make your install look exactly like the demo. What then? just leave it as is? I presume not, you will then start to play with it, move things around etc.. so why not just do that first yourself? There is no shortcut to understanding and learning Joomla, and you will be surprised how quickly you will pick it up. RT members are good at helping each other and you will get quick and helpful replies to your questions, but just come in with realistic expectations.

I still suggest you head over to joomla.org (as do the T&C's) There is a huge amount of information there for newbies, just go to the FAQ section in the forum. There are user and admin guides available and plenty more.
