Renewal Options Missing

    • Already did that yesterday, and they are fair and nice people

I'm not ranting here in order to get some discounts, $10 more or $10 less doesn't bother me that much. I was just hoping to see the logic behind the renewal pricing option, was thinking maybe i failed to realise something or what.

      And my conclusion is :

"When you renew your membership, you have to pay $10 more than when you first signed up new. However, we give you 1 additional entitlement and 4 more mths of access to a forum where you may be receiving good advice dished out by helpful community members who has paid to get in just like you did. We do not endorse nor validate these advices. Nowhere do we undertake that your issues will be attended to and resolved within a reasonable time-frame by a certified RT support personnel. Yes, 4 additional mths of paid support is mandatory, for reasons you'd appreciate dearly only later and then thank us for that. And yes, the 2nd entitlement is also mandatory. Because we have never seen anyone stopping at building RT sites :cheesy: "

However, a workaround is available. You can avoid renewing your expired accounts all together and sign up as a new member instead and save $10 in that process. But to do that, you'd have to sign up for a new email address first in order to successfully buy a new subscription. And unlike many other forums, we are fine with you owning more than 1 identity in the community forums as a result of that."

    • Retired, but build and run websites for organisations of school leaders and others - e.g. http://www.icponline.org, http://www.aspa.asn.au, http://www.appa.asn.au

    • A couple of things:

      1. The 2 months subscription for new members is to let them try RT out to see if they want to keep going with their membership.

      2. I do not regard the subscription as getting just the "paid support". To me, the subscription is for access to the templates and the support from the tech group. Almost all of my support has always been from the forums, and that is an added bonus to my subscription. These are the best-organised forums that I am a member of, with the global moderation group around the world giving 24/7 advice and suggestions.

      3. I have been using Joomla and RT for over 3 years now, and I am still finding that I need help with new and changed things both in Joomla and in the RT templates. That might be just me! And I get great help from these forums, so I like to try to put something back into the RT community - I find that I can help others, even though I still need help myself with some (many) things.
