Anyone have any ideas or input how to add CAPTCHA to the stock contact form other than security images from walter cedric?

Or maybe a different contact form/ replacement for the stock one in Joomla?
I have been getting quite a bit of spam over the last few days and all kinds of "exciting offers" for ringtones and amazing stock investments etc. well you get the idea.........
Maybe someone knows of a bad-ass contact form script that will erase alleged spammers hard drive, fry processor and video card and possibly slap the spammer into next week?

lol. no problem.
I've been noticing an increasing in spam on my forms as well. I hacked together an online entry form for my tennis club's tournament. it's been up for months, but it just now started getting a lot of spam. I am going to have to go back and implement some sort of anti-spam measure. It's not a joomla site, though. It's a crazy hacked together form I put together myself. If the tournament wasn't in 3 weeks, I'd pull it down and start all over. lol
Also been getting a lot of spam on my smf forum. I guess I should take away guest's abilities to post.

Not listed on the Joomla.org advisory page but is it really patched?
I am checking into it GollumX I am always so freaked out about 3rd party extensions security......
Just a bit of info looks like theres a fairly new beta on the forge : forge.joomla.org/sf/projects/performs
will keep you posted about what I find out....
Ok heres what it looks like as far as I can tell by reading the forums on joomla.org: newest beta version v2_beta is ok.

- Anyone have any capchtas that work with 1.0.12? I noticed the addon for performs only had updates until 1.0.11 then I found a post that gave a link to the update for 1.0.12, but it gives you some files, and the guy says you have to run a file compare program, find out what is changed them manually make the changes. He said if you just copy the files over, you get permission errors? Anyways, anyone know of one that works well on 1.0.12?
