    • The bot I used in the above post worked just fine for me on 1.012
Just adds captcha to the contact form is all. You do have to replace your original contact form with the one supplied with the bot and upload a file or two but a really fast and dirty way to add captcha to just the contact form.....
      (without installing PerForms)
PerForms is an awesome and flexible way to make some sweet forms though.........

    • I tried using securebot..but when i went to replace the 2 files..only one of them where there. My joomla install didn't have the *.html.php files. I uploaded both files to the components/com_contact folder, but didn't notice anything changed...tried out the contact form and didn't see any captcha there. Not sure what I did wrong. I am using the one that integrates with performs for the moment, but would rather be using securebot if I could get it to work since it has the audio option. If you have any idea where I went wrong, let me know!

      Thanks,

    • Did you publish the bot?
You can also do a little bot configuration by clicking the bot name in the site mambots page.
      see attached images.

    • So it is not strange that there was no html.php version of the files in the folders to be replaced?

Ok, I checked and it is published. Just doesn't seem to do anything. I am thinking it had to do with the fact that I didn't have both of the files it told me to replace in the first place. Not sure though. Question..the 2 files you replaced, did you replace them in domain.com/components/com_contact or domains.com/administrator/components/com_contact?

    • Woops My MISTAKE I used that bot on 1.011!

Doing a quick look I uploaded the file (but first backed up my original) to / domain.com / components / com_contact File: contact.html.php

      From the read me:
      contact form:
      - install Securebot,configure and publish
      - backup or rename
      components\com_contact\contact.php
      components\com_contact\contact.html.php
      - copy from add-on to joomla
      components\com_contact\contact.php
      components\com_contact\contact.html.php

Looking in the forum at alikonweb there is supposed to be one that works with 1.012 THIS WEEK.
ok now you have downloaded the mambot files,
you must install this mambot like other mambots and publish it if you want this bot work with registration and contact and guestbook and moslookup and other.

For run securebot, the standard core component like contact or registration need some little modification so you have to download HERE www.alikonweb.it/451/index.php?option=co...ctfolder&filecatid=3 the ZIP that contains all the needed files for registration&conctat componenent for the Joomla! 1.0.11 version

At the end of this week we publish the new realese of SecureBot for Joomla! 1.0.12

Woops Sorry I messed up when I said this would work on 1.0.12 :-[

Not sure what the difference is between 11/12 versions in contact form Ill take a peek late tonight when I get back from somewhere I have to go......
Don't think the changes can be that drastic though.....

    • Well like I said, there was no contact.html.php file in my com_contacts folder. So that's a pretty big change!LOL I am using the security images one right now, but you can't use it on the joomla contact form, and the form I made is VERY plain!lol Also, security images doesn't have sound working yet.

      Thanks,

William - I just did some more checking into this with 1.0.12 you should indeed have this file in your components/com _contact folder (NOT in your admin/components) as well as all these files I am about to list (clean without any mod. from version 1.0.12)

      contact.php
      contact.class.php
      contact.html.php
      index

Maybe check again and make sure you don't have these files or are missing something or if your looking around with joomlaxplorer or your ftp program that hidden files are viewable.........
I am about to do some more testing on this contact bot and see what it needs to work with 1.0.12 (if indeed it doesn't now) although the bot-makers site claims that there will be a release this week......

After a quick look with winmerge there are *hardly any changes* between the 1.0.12 version and the 1.0.11 versions of com_contact

I was going to do some more checking around at joomla.org but they appear to still be having some issues...hope
the site gets back up soon!

      EDIT:
maybe keep an eye on this thread and similar here at forum.joomla.org......
